After a very long drought, after successful lawsuits and defenses, I finally have an agency that has contacted me. I thought this day would never come again. I thought I was completely black balled from collection agencies and JDB.
However, never doubt their stupidity. The agency that contacted me over a 160.00 paid medical bill is not (drum roll....) licensed in my state to collect. In addition, I already have written confirmation from the state board of collection agency they are not licensed. They also, 100%, must be licensed. There is not even any gray area. They are not even a JDB that can try the worn out argument they are not a collection agency, this is a collection agency and even has the member of the ACA on their letter. Oh, for good measure they called me, recorded line of course, and never gave any mini-miranda. So, for those of you that thought you would never be contacted again, keep your chin up, stay positive, keep paying it forward by helping others and your day just might come also. To say I'm excited is an understatment. This is going to cost them and not just a nusiance offer.

I would guess that there are some JDBs/CAs that are too new or too small to know what webrecon is and why they would use it. That will always be the case as some players die out and new ones replace them.

Bravo! You are truly a professional deadbeat! You must be so proud! What will you do for entertainment after you run out of bad debts due to nobody willing to lend to you?

Just to let JDB's and others several members have the skills to ghost the CIC server and trace back IP addresses to their source. It would be funny to add this person to the lawsuit. Ah but since we are all anonymous it is all well.
See Coltfan you bring out the best and worst in people.

Man, I hope they think that you're just some dumb hick just because you're from Arkansas.
I assume you plan on dragging them to trial? Or at the very least making them pay every single penny you are asking for with no NDA? You don't have to answer, unless you want them to see what they're in for |

I can actually see the Federal Courthouse from my house. Won't even have to pay for gas to get there.
I tossed around the idea of a very poorly written small claims suit in an attempt to goad them into removing to federal.

Just remember, there's nothing wrong with being a hick. Just don't be a dumb one. A slow speaking, unassuming, humble, yet intelligent southern lawyer can be a frightening thing. There's that southern drawl that many associate with keeping the genes in the family. There's the reputation. Then BAM! The argument didn't sound that good, but for some odd reason, you feel really dumb and everybody thinks its convincing. |

Oh I embraced it three years ago.
I told the lawyer for the other side I would have 12 people from Arkansas sitting on a jury. I would be pro se and embrace the good ole boy trying to do this because I can't afford a lawyer. I told him he was going to have an unlicensed collection agency from Michigan, that was hounding me when they should never have done business in Arkansas, sitting next to him. I'll hand them a blank check and they will fill in whatever number I ask for. Award overturned on appeal or severely reduced? Probably, but who cares.

It is funny how JDB's pay 50 dollars for a debt then committ 7 to 8 violations then Coltfan takes them to court then the jury finds out he paid that debt 6 years ago and the person that sold them that debt just padded the thousands of accounts listed on the bill of sale with data from an old credit report the "aquired from a guy in a black hoody behind a dumpster" and that they have to pay Coltfans' bills for a whole year.
It is quite funny really All because they think they are mafiosos. Priceless.

That attorney will then provide a consultation either free of charge or for a small fee. |
