Has anyone had problems with TU not getting back to their disputes?

I started my credit clean up in November. The first letter I sent out on 11/04 and I got a response stating they needed to verify who I was. I send the information along with another dispute. On 12/10 I sent another letter pointing out that they have not responded to my dispute. Still heard nothing. I sent out one more on 1/12 and still have not received any type of response. I did sent them out CMRRR.

Where do I go from here?

Late November I mailed dispute letter to TU included my ID and one other paper for proof of idenity. 12/9 They mailed letter requesting more info to an address I did not use and does not show on any credit report. Stated they were unable to prosess my request. Good thing it was my MIL's. Letter stated something about mailing to address listed with USPS at this time..??

Another letter dated 12/13 arrives (at her house) and they have removed 2 collection accounts and verified one. Once online, this past week I disputed another collection and within a couple days I got an email stating the investation was complete. It was deleted.

Call TU and request them to let you know what's up! They were great on the phone when I called earlier this week.

I have LVNV remaining. Hopefully I will see it dissappear soon!

Good LucK!

Ugh - I called them today to follow up on my dispute and was told that they would be done with the investigation on the 16th. The person I was talking to said the reason my letters were not answered was because I failed to prove my identity. I was able to update my address over the phone, but there seems to be two conflicting statements. Guess I'll have to see if I actually get a response soon.

They are gonna drive me to drink!

It amazes me what these folks can get away with. they have the balance of people's lives in thier databases, a CA does not have to prove that the debt is for real, all they have to do is subscribe to the CRA, us puny little consumers have to bend over backwards, jump thru hoops and take a financial nose dive to get things straight.

There outta be a law against this!

I just got a letter in today from TU. They deleted the Citibank tradeline within 7 days of receiving my dispute.

It also came on the same day that the green card came back to me too.

That's awesome! TU is the only one that I am waiting for and it has been since October since I started on this quest. I guess the good news is, when they get back to me and say it has all been verified, I can send them a MOV pretty quickly since I have already sent out DV letters. They were on my other CR's as well.

I got request for address verification from TU.
here's what I did- I figured out that it was a STALL TACTIC for TU.

then, I submitted a detailed complaint with my TU file# to BBB on the same day I got this stall letter from TU. (BBB complaint was done online)

Guess what? TU has put me into their "special handling department". they responded to BBB, but they also finished my dispute request within 30 days. I got 2 collection entries removed and I am now fighting to get another one removed.

After I requested MOV from TU and investigation, they again sent me their PROOF OF ADDRESS bs* letter. I submitted another detailed complaint to BBB and now I am sitting and waiting for the results

In the meantime, I am not providing them any additional information b/c it will only extend their timeline (that's why they use this tactic). But, I did call to follow up and was immediately transferred to their special handling priority unit. lol

If you want to be treated as special with TU, complain in detail to BBB as soon as possible.

It really helps to be patient when following up with the bureaus. I think the bureaus consider that every burden of proof and follow up is in our responsibility. We need to be consistent in our follow up until we are able to get what we wanted.

I ended up calling them and was a little rough with the rep. When I explained the situation, being that I have sent several dispute letters since October and have heard nothing back. The rep told me it was because they needed the proof on who I was. I asked if they needed proof, why is he giving me all this information over the phone. He stated it was because I was able to prove who I was, and I stated that it was the same information on I sent into begin with. I told him that they had 5 more days until the 30 days expired from my last letter and If I did not get it back in time, I would be filing my complaint being that they are in violation with the FCRA. The Rep told me that I would be receiving their response soon. 3 days later I received it and they deleted all but three items on my report.
