Go New Jersey! Now that the sub-prime crisis is at its height, you know debt collectors are getting more aggressive. We posted before that the FTC’s report on collection agency agency consumer complaints showed a dramatic increase in unethical practices of the collection agency industry.

Experian and Equifax now taking 45 days to investigate if you’ve EVER gotten a free credit report

Under the FACT Act which passed in 2003, if a consumer pulls their annual free credit report to which they are entitled once a year, the credit bureaus have 45 days to investigate disputes rather than 30 days.
