You knew it had to happen - Collection Agencies are subbing out to India. So now it’s a call from India you are going to get when a collection agency or JDB is going to call you. So if they are violating the FDCPA - who are you going to sue? You can’t sue an Indian company - is the collection agency going to be held liable? Very disturbing.
The other thing about this article I found disturbing was they are going to start asking people for their tax rebates as part of payments. Of Course! Why not? I say just say “No”.

Those JDBs who hire Indian firms can definitely get sued though. There is no way a judge would let them skirt the FDCPA because folks hire people out of the country. ESPECIALLY if you subpoena proof that the JDB hired them in the first place.
I will definitely get litigious if I ever get one of those firms calling me. It would be such an easy thing to rack up violations.

Yeah - unless the firm is acting as the collection agency - does anyone know if this is happening?
