The Creditinfocenter.com telephone line rings and I wonder if I’ll hear those familiar words. Cringing, I answer; a desperate sounding voice urgently asks the one question I dread most: CAN YOU FIX MY CREDIT?
The answer? No, we can not fix your credit. Can we help YOU fix your credit? Yes, we CAN do that. But it is going to take some real commitment on your part. And, as with most things in life, a little monetary expense; if you want our help, that is. In all honesty, with the exception of perhaps some postage fees, you can do it on your own for free. Most likely, all the information you need is on our website. Free. Yes, FREE!
So, why do I cringe when I get these calls? This seems like really good news that I am providing to the caller. I am hopeful that they will take my advice and beeline straight (back) to the website with eagerness and use all the free advice and guidance that is provided there. But 99% of the time the response I get is “I was looking for someone to do it for me; what do you charge? (we don’t do that: fix it for you, that is; we only provide counseling guidance) or the caller asks “can you recommend someone” (we advocate doing on your own, because it’s “easy”; that is the whole premise behind our site!) so naturally it makes me sad to think this person is going to pay some credit repair agency more money than they deserve to do something straightforward and relatively easy. Sigh……
But, I digress. After all, this is a business, and our bills need to be paid too. So I guess I shouldn’t be too disappointed. But let me tell you about the calls I LOVE to answer…. (and these are a close second in number as far as frequency we receive them to my “least favorite calls”). These are customers who have utilized our website, various products (e-books, sample letters, paperback book, etc), or counseling services and are calling to thank us for “saving them”. Some of these calls move us to tears (many times they are really choked up!). Hard not to feel good about helping people about now….
Dang, a job isn’t supposed to make you feel GOOD. Or is it, folks ?????

I know exactly what you mean! It’s pretty fustrating when people expect you to do things for them but at the same time you will always be there for their guidance and support. Work is suppose to have meaning and give you that nice, warm, fuzzy feeling of accomplishment, especially when you make a difference in other people’s lives. Thats exactly why I love giving and sharing adivce too.
