Back in July Kristy wrote a great blog about about ways to save shopping online. Today’s feature throws out some suggestions as far as specific websites that we’ve found that seem to provide good values and information to help you in your search for that savings.

1. Browsing for general product information: ConsumerReports.org. It is an unbiased, ad-free site that offers subscribers comprehensive information, reviews, and recommendations, and anyone can browse general product information for free.

2. Finding products at discount prices: Overstock.com, Amazon.com. Sign up for notification of discounts and deals via email for instant notification.

3. Comparison shopping: These sites offer side by side product comparisons, reviews, and good information (if you can ignore all the ads): Pricewatch.com, NexTag.com, Froogle.com, Shopzilla.com, PriceGrabber.com, Shopping.yahoo.com, ConsumerSearch.com.

4. Coupons: Not everyone has the couponing drive inside them, but the savings they provide can really add up. Easy ways to seek and print coupons include sites such as Valpak.com, Couponmom.com, and Smartsource.com. More tips on couponing can be found here.

5. Electronics Shopping: These sites offer useful technology and product reviews, buying guides, and information and news about new products: Cnet.com, Howstuffworks.com, Egadget.com, Gizmodo.com.

6. Wine snobs: (couldn’t leave this out;) Here’s some suggested wine search engines for finding excellent values as well as wine and food-pairing recommendations.

Well, I’m sure there are others. Anyone care to share their favorites?
