I settled my debt for $2000 on my $6,000 total debt and they accepted it. They have me spoke to a higher bank officer and plead my case on why I needed to settle my debt and they approved it.

I can tell you that BAC will settle but only after you've fallen 120 + behind - reps in the front lines cannot offer settlements. 180 Day (the last month) before Charge Off will settle as low as 25% if you can do it in 1,2, or 3 months. Guaranteed.

I disagree. I didn't call BOA till the last week before it was going to be charged off. They were more than willing to settle. I got a 75% reduction on my balance. Only paid 25% of a $30,000 balance. ($8,000). I made them an offer, and they accepted it right away. No haggling on the amount. It was easier than I thought. This happened on 1/28/10.
