Closed Credit Card Accounts and My Score Went Down?

Q. I closed some credit card accounts because they were high and I have been paying them on time. By closing them, it actually hurt my credit score! Should I reopen them even if I don’t use them it it will increase my credit score?

New Freeze on Foreclosures Could Freeze Housing Market

Because of alleged fraud by lenders, banks in question are freezing the foreclosure process to go over mortgages with a fine tooth comb.

Have Foreclosures Been Halted in My State?

Heard the news recently regarding fraudulent paperwork and affidavits used by mortgage lenders in the foreclosure process? The revelations forced many of the major banks to completely halt foreclosures in 23 states requiring a court order to proceed with a foreclosure. If your state doesn’t require a court order, you live in what’s called a non-judicial state. This post tells the reader in which states the freeze was ordered and what to do if you don’t live in a judicial state.
