  1. Original Creditor is Syncrony Bank. I included the credit card agreement.
  2. I was sued by Midland Funding. I filed a Motion to Compel for Arbitration. Matter was set on calendar. Plaintiff's attorney filed a response, basically saying I had no leg to stand on. I was expecting this to be much smoother but it's not. What should I expect at the hearing? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Have any of you used and followed the MyFico Simulator before? If so, how accurate was it? I'm trying to help my brother get his credit prepared for home buying. The credit simulator indicates that if he pays a certain amount on his credit card, his fico score would improve by 30 points. Just curious if anyone has tried this.
  4. @fisthardcheese thank you for creating this post. Very helpful info for all those dealing with this. Are you by any chance in Cali?

Someone that was renting my house opened the account and I just recently found out about it when I moved back into my home. I had some personal tax records stored in my storage on the property and I truly believe it was my former tenants may have stolen my identity because after getting served with this, I started getting credit denial letters sent to my house and I had never applied for any credit using my current address. I haven't applied for credit in over 3 years. 12. What is the SOL on the debt? 4 years 13. What is the status of your case? Suit served? Motions filed? Nothing indicating what accts were transferred). 3) Midland Credit Management Bill 3/4/17 & 10/30/17 4) Synchrony Bill 1/26/16 & 7/26/16 5) Declaration pursuant to CCP Section 395 (b); venue of personal, family or household obligations With my crazy work schedule and I commute for work, I am thinking about hiring an attorney to fight this case for me. However, because of financial reasons, I will to have file my Answer on my own (to meet time lines) and then hire an attorney next month to take over. I am working on my Answer and need a little guidance. I gather from all the reading I've done that I can only use the General Denial form if the damage amount is under $1,000 correct? What does it mean the someone asked "is the debt verified?"I Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Thanks @Clydesmom for your quick response. I will cross my fingers and hope they don't file within the next 40 days.
  7. This morning I received notification from myfico that a collection account has been reported on my experian credit report. Statute of limitation (SOL) expires on 8/30/2015. Should I dispute this account with Credit Bureau (to buy time in case they are trying to file a small claims case) or should I leave it alone and hope they don't file a small claims within the next month? Also if they file a small claims before 8/30/2015, what happens if they are unable to serve me before 8/30/2015? I'm in the middle of moving. I wanted to negotiate the debt with them but not before 8/30/2015 because I figured it would be easier to negotiate if there isn't a judgment in place.
  8. I know this is an old thread but I just wanted to share with anyone looking for positive results on goodwill letters to capital one. I've read on other post that Capital One doesn't grant goodwill request. I was hesitant in writing the letter but thought it was worth a try. I wrote them a goodwill late to remove a 30 day late reporting. I basically wrote them a letter letting them know that I have been a member for many years with only one late and explained my situation. Two weeks later I received a call saying that they have removed the 30 day late report!!!! So if you're in the same situation, give it a try. You have nothing to lose!!
  9. Thanks for the info @Clydesmom
  10. Hi all, I just recently got pre-approved for home loan. However, it was for a FHA loan. I am trying to get pre-approved for a conventional home loan but my agent says I am only 10 points from qualifying for a conventional home loan. I don't have any collections on my credit report (all paid off and deleted from report). Only ding I have on my report is two 30-day late on my student loans. I've called and written sallie mae with a good will letter but they just won't budge. Any advice on how I can possibly raise my score in short time frame? Housing market is picking up and so is mortgage rates so I am trying to purchase a home soon. I thought about getting added as an authorized user on my fiancé's credit card, he carries a $100 balance on a 15k credit limit. Just not sure if it will raise my score by 10 points. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  11. I'm In process of applying for home loan. I know lenders are requiring copies of my last 2-3 mos bank statements. Does anyone know if I have to show bank statements for all my banks accts or just the account that I have my reserves in. Reserves $$ is in my savings account.
