  1. I received a collections letter for a debt owed to Paypal. Earlier this year I noticed 3 fraudulent charges on a checking account and they were from Paypal totaling $90. I called Paypal to question the charges and it was an account that was just opened that day and somehow they had my debit card information tied to that account. The bank ended up removing the fraudulent charges and I thought it was over. Now Paypal tells me that I need to file a police report for the incident in order to cancel the collection. Is it really necessary for a police report? I have free legal services through my employer and was thinking of letting them handle it.
  2. It is beyond 6 months so I cannot appeal it. I sent a request for DV and received it, what should my next move be? Try to settle?
  3. Medical Mutual. Allergy testing.
  4. Can you tell me how to file an appeal ?
  5. I did receive the service and I had insurance at the time. Insurance paid for the office visit but they said my coverage didn't include the procedure. If I reach a settlement with the provider would the collection agency still be able to sue me? Thank you for your help.
  6. I just received a letter from a collection agency lawyer threatening to sue me over a medical debt. Should I be concerned about this and what options do I have? The agency is a local collection agency and the amount is just over $1200. Thanks.
  7. I just had a new collection show up on my report, AFNI for $76, creditor, AT&T. Shows in Experian and Equifax. They sent me a letter offering to settle for $38. My question is, should I accept their settlement offer or should I dispute the debt? Thank you in advance for your response.
  8. I had a Chap 13 bankruptcy filed in 08-2007, TU is the only CRA still reporting it. Everything I've read tells me they can report it for up to 10 years. Is there anything I can do to get them to stop reporting it? Thank you in advance for your help!
  9. To update, Equifax and Experian have both dropped the collection from ERC from my report. I still haven't heard back from Transunion as I mailed the letter to them much later. Will ERC be able to just re-submit this later on or do I have to worry about them suing me?
  10. Thank you very much for your suggestions, I'm gonna start mailing letters.
  11. Collection Associates, medical, May 2014 $71 Enhanced Recovery, Sprint, March 2015 ( I know this date is incorrect) $466
  12. I've been working to build up my credit score after years of neglecting it, I currently have scores of: Eq 616, TU 592, Ex 607 I had a credit card for 7 months and recently had my limit increased to 2500 from 2000, and a 2nd card with a 300 limit. I have 2 collections and they are for rather small amounts so I wonder if I would be better off just paying them. One is for $71 and the other is $446. Should I try for removal of the items or just pay them? Thank you for your help.
  13. Enhanced Recovery Company just reported a collection on my report that dropped me from 726 to 658. The amount is $446 and Sprint is the company owed. Should I try a PFD with ERC or would I be better off trying to make a deal with Sprint? ERC earlier offered to settle for $246 but it wasn't appearing on my report at the time so I didn't do it. I'd appreciate any help here. Farang
  14. I have an account that a CA is trying to collect on and they have offered a settlement. I've just looked at my CR and I can't find this account on any of the reports. Should I try to pay to delete? It's only $426 and it's no problem for me to pay.
