  1. I have said thank you. Repeatedly. Once more, thank you. I mean no disrespect. Thank you all again. I just want people to have a clear understanding of what they're getting into. It's not necessarily a slam dunk. I think it depends on the court you're in and the state you're in and the individual laws of that state, obviously. Some may be easier than others. As @Clyde'smom stated JDB are getting wise to the ways of the MTC and are adjusting accordingly. Naturally I would have preferred a lower judgment but as I said before, half a loaf is better than a full loaf. I live, I learn. I move on. I
  2. Well, that's not entirely true. There was over $600 in junk fees and court costs added. My original debt was about $700. In fact, i offered them a settlement when i waa furloughed of $700. Ironic hih? Citi said no. $1450 or nothing. So, 4 years later they get $700. Hopefully they buy their attorney a dental exam, some breath mints and a haircut. Cheap tie, too. Bitter? A little. He didnt have to be so mean.
  3. People need to know this. It is not as easy as it sounds. Especially in rural courts that will end run you. It helped that I had a pile of cash sitting on the table in front of their attorney. My advice: figure out the most you can pay right then, and right now. Get the cash. Bring it with you and then low ball and see how far it goes. I even had the deputy count in mine.
  4. I was as prepared as I could have been. No court costs, judgement with prejudice and less than 50% paid. I hope the lawyer uses some of the $700 He got paid in cash today to buy a better fitting suit and some breath mints. A haircut would be good, too. Looked and smelled like the last man from Borneo. But, sorry pro se litigants are at a disadvantage, at least in Georgia.
  5. Citibank I'm sure I was had. But I'm done. At least I didn't have to pay the whole amount. Half a loaf is better than all. Learned my lesson. Never deal with PRA. Yes, they won.
  6. BTW, my agreement specified Magistrates court, which I was in.
  7. Yes. I DID that. Hard though when the judge goes hand over fist in favor of the jdb attorney and shoots down every argument. And the attorney leaves and says see you next time judge. Judge says okay look forward to it. Come on. I didn't have a chance.
  8. Yes, but i didnt know i could do that. Not an attorney. Judge and attorney started threatening me with trial. Yes, I got nervous and I caved. My bad. Felt like it was sort of a kangaroo court. It had that vibe
  9. Update. Attorney came in and tried to be my buddy. Gave this whole spiel about how he was going to help me and I could make $30 payments from now until I was 400 and how he worked for Cooling and Water but please don't hold it against him. Also, was extremely solicitous to the court bailiff, judge, and Court secretary for lack of a better word. Lots of oh thank you, you remembered and so nice of you, and so great to see you again judge. I knew I was in deep water at that point. When I handed him the MTC and the agreement his demeanor immediately changed and he became very aggressive, wh
  10. Thank you all so much. All this information has given me renewed hope. I have one final question. Where can I find an uploadable motion to compel for arbitration for the state of Georgia?

  12. My sincere apologies. One person told me to do that. I will stop. Thank you for your time.
  13. I am in Georgia. When I submit my motion to compel arbitration, and they pull us out into the hall, what are some of the "arguments" that will be used by the PRA attorney to try and compel me to NOT enter into arbitration. In other words, what are real and genuine truths and what is fluff and bluster?
