  1. Hi, It has been awhile since my last post. I filed BK7 in 2002. Since then I have: 1)I graduated from college in 2004 and I have a decent paying full time job. 2) I have 8 credit cards and closed 1 credit card account for a total of 9: The first card I got was the Chevron Gas Card (also referred to as the chevron re-builder card) with a limit of $300, then I got an Orchard Bank Silver Card with a $500 limit and an initial registration fee of $49 and an annual fee of $49 and then I asked for a credit limit increase and was approved for a $1,100 limit but I had to pay a fee for the increase, then I got a First Premier Gold Visa with a limit of $250 an annual fee of $39 and was charged a "sign up fee" and then you have your month participation fee that equals $72 per year or $6 per month on your card and they still have not increased my credit limit since I had the card, then I got an Aspire Card with a $1,000 credit limith with no annual fee, then I applied for a Bowflex account issued by HSBC (Household Bank) and was approved for a $3,000 credit card, then I got an Orchard Bank Platinum Card with a $1,200 credit limit and no annual fee, and then a Chase card with a $1,500 credit limit and no annual fee, and I just got approved for my first store credit card from Belk-Leggett issued by GE Money Bank with a limit of only $300 (I was really shocked to get a store card because I have applied quite a few times over the last 4 years and been denied everytime. 3) I have about $32,000 in student loans 4) I have $2,000 left owing on my car 5) Earlier this week I was approved for a $5,000 credit card consolidation loan from the local credit union. So my cards will be payed off and will have a zero balance soon. 6) Tonight I applied for a new account with Bowflex and was approved once again for a $3,000 credit limit. I only did this to increase my debt to income ratio, not with the intetion of using the card at all. Finally...The point of the story is, my question: I opened up my Bowflex credit account with HSBC (Household Bank) in August 2005, and I closed it in July 2006 because I had never used the account. The account was for $3,000, and when I closed it the credit report tradeline was perfect, no lates, always pays as agrees, I mean I never used the account the whole time I had it. I am looking to buy a house in about 5 years, and so after reading some credit repair articles and information, I was wondering if I should call the customer service department to see if I could open up the old account again and cancel the new one being since they were for the same amount by the same company. I called and asked them this, and they said no because the window to re-open an account is 3 months, and I closed the account in July and its now December. I want to have the most positive credit history with the longest amount of time as possible when I apply for my house. Question: So should I pursue and write a good will letter to the Executives and CEOs at the company HSBC (Household Bank0)to try and re-open the old account and cancel the new one or just accept the new account I have and just go with the new one or what/ So, the post was so long for a simple question...just covering everything. Thanks for any help, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Jewel1980

  5. Hi, I am working on my credit report and getting the info. updated and I am working on a letter to dispute the BK7 discharged 6/02, and I am still waiting for this lawyer to call me back so I can find out about these wells fargo loans, and I am waiting for the answer about the medical collection on my account Anyway I was reading where this guy had got denied by chase for a credit card and wrote them a letter asking for reconsideration and was approved. As you guys know I am a grad. student so I was wondering if I applied directly to chase after I finish and receive the first round of dispute info, and supplied them with a letter and a credit reference from my cell phone company would that sway them to approve me for a card. I would be happy for a $500 limit. I just do not want to put up my own money right now b/c I do not have it. I would be applying for a student credit card. Thanks, Jewel
  6. hey guys, I am just curious about your opinions with rent to own stores I have heard to stay away from them because they charge astronomical fees and you could possibly pay for something twice Anyway, I was just looking at this at an option for my computer buy most likely not b/c I am trying to save money over the long run So let me know what you think about them Jewel
  7. Here is a glimpse of my current credit situation: BK7 discharged 6/2002 a car repoed before BK7 filing but debt was included in BK7 is still listed as deliquent (but was included in BK7) dola-6/2002 mitsubishi motors-also says credit line closed at grantor's request two different mortgage entries same account the company just merged signal bank-(good account-paid never late)-dola 6/1999 firsmerit bank-charged off as bad debt-dola 6/2002 has a 120 day late on it Now I know for sure all of the other ones were included in BK but are not listed as so, so I am working on that and getting my addresses and stuff up to date, but these WFB accounts were listed on the list of creditors and they did not challenge the BK7 so I am not sure they were dismissed or not, they are private non-federal student loans, so I am looking for a lawyer to help me with this Wells fargo bank student loans-charged off as bad debt -opened 7/1999 and the other one was opened 7/2000 (husband was co-signer) one of them has a dola as 7/2002 the other one has 7/2003 I have a paid medical collection listed on my report for $95 from the CA and then their is a seperate listing from the doctor's office (I paid this with persona check before I found this board) One positive Wells Fargo account with Dad as co-signer opened 1/2000 has a listing has 3 times thirty days late on Experian others say paid or paying as agreed American General Finance-(car) opened 7/2003 never late, secured by household items, no cosigner, (got approved b/c Dad knew the guy) I just got approved for the chevron card yesterday so it will not show up for awhile until after I use it. Please let me know what I need to do to get approved by dell or gateway for a computer loans thanks, jewel
  8. I have applied to Gateway and Dell I was declined by both According to PG my score is 632 so anyway I do not know what the deal is I am working on my credit so hopefully I get approved soon I really do not want to have a cosigner but if it comes down to it I will beg my parents if I must You see I have exhausted my federal financial aid for the year, so if I get extra money it will have to be a private student loan (which I do not want) I looked all over the internet for student computer loans and of course different universities come up with information about their specific loan program and of course my university does not have one (I mean to be as big as they are they are behind time on somethings). I did not find any programs that were just student computer loans So if you guys know any other alternatives let me know soon thanks, Jewel
  9. I was really excited that I got approved for the chevron gas card Well I wish I was as lucky when it came to getting computer financing. I need a laptop computer and my school does not have a seperate financing plan like some schools do, I do not know why. Anyway, I went to Gateway and Dells website. Both of them use citibank and mbna to finance their easy pay plans for computer financing. Well I applied at Gateway and of course I was denied, well my question is does anyone know where I can get some computer financing without and cosigner and without having to pay rediculous interest rates such as with a finance company (ex American General) or with like one of those rentway places (ex rentway). I mean those places are crazy and charge too much money. I mean do you guys know of someone, a bank maybe, who will finance an unemployed Graduate Student. If you know of any bad credit student loans that I could get to use for the purchase that would be great too. I have exhausted my federal aid for the year as of yesterday, so it would have to be an alternative or private loan, preferrably with no cosigner thanks jewel
  10. I have just been surfing and messing around on the internet for different financial programs for bad credit, you know bad credit student loans and bad credit student credit cards (which do not exist). Anyway I am across this website called anycredit.com and they claim to approve anyone for an unsecured personal loan regardless of credit history. Well I was curious and skeptical so I called the phone number listed on the website 1-877 -596-8153 and they said on the recording that home ownership is not required and to refer back to their website. I think this is bogus, I was wondering what you guys think? I also found those websites that say something like oh give us $29 and we will give you a list of free government grants, (bad credit bank lenders and bad credit credit card issuers. Well if they were so special and so secretive would not someone from these boards (especially sisflomi) have found them and listed them most likely with other bank information? I just wanted to let you guys know what I found and get your input on it? I think it is all bogus!!! jewe
  11. ok well if I use an independent supplier how do I find them where I live at I am definitely looking to use one of these
  12. hi, I would like to know what the deal is with the ups mailboxes etc mailboxes. I just called the closest office which is 30 miles from my house and asked about getting a mailbox. She told me I had to provide to forms of id, and fill out two forms one for the government and one for them. I do have to provide my real permanent address to get one of these boxes. So how is this different from a regular po box. Now I read the sticky about repairing your credit. It says you can use a MBE mail box as your permanent address and that it will look like you live in an apartment. So how would I go about getting my driver's license address changed to the MBE address and start using the MBE address as my permanent address? jewel
  13. hi, You guys I am totally absolutely estatic I got approved for a chevron card with a $300 limit. You guys know I am a student and my situation with WFB, I am totally estatic. I you guys know any postive or negative stuff about this card please list. The only downside is that the nearest chevron gas station is like 35 or 40 miles away from my house. Also, what is the ideal percentage of available credit that I should charge each month to make the account really good and up my credit scores. Thanks, Jewel
  14. no none of the debts were reaffirmed and I what the mortgage and the house gone from the reports...you know poof be gone on the other hand I want to work out a deal with Wells fargo regarding the student loans but need as much information and ammo. I can get to get them to do what I want them to do So I will try what you suggested and let me know what you think jewel
