  1. Thanks guys. Basically, all I want to do is write a letter stating that they are reporting incorrectly and to change it to correctly reflect IIB. Hope it works.
  2. This is exactly what I want to do. Just was looking for some sort of sample stating this. I never stated I wanted to forward my BK paperwork. Don't know where that came from. I thought there was. There are other sample letters. I thought there may have been one for this type. I guess I'll wing it. Just wanted to make sure I worded it correctly.
  3. There must be a misunderstanding here. I want to dispute. I had thought there was a "sample letter" somewhere that I could use to just send to the OC and CA stating to correct to IIB. I can't seem to locate it. That's all.
  4. I can't seem to make that letter work. Does anyone know if there is a generic letter out there just requesting that the OC and CA reflect IIB instead of open/charged off? I've searched all the forms and have come up empty.
  5. Thanks. That was also me in the other thread. I had thought there was just a generic form letter somewhere that just asked that the OC and CA report correctly as IIB. I guess I will just pare down that one. Thanks again.
  6. I know there's a sample letter for this around here somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. Any help appreciated.
  7. The names and dates were changed to protect the "innocent". I get it. I'll see how it goes. Thanks.
  8. Yep...that was my understanding. Thanks for clarifying. After looking at the letter, I don't believe I can use that tactic due to the accts being sold off months before my filing of BK. I just unplugged my answering machine and didn't answer the phone while trying to get out from under my situation with BK7 being the result. However, it is a good template. Maybe I can use it more generically to try and get them to change it.
  9. That was I figured, which is why I was puzzled when you said that BK is worse than open collections. Thanks for the sample letter. Hopefully I can use some of it.
  10. Isn't this contradictory? BK is worse than open collections, but you would prefer to change it to IIB? I assumed you would want anything to be IIB if you have a CH7 discharge. Anyway, I pulled all three reports from PrivacyGuard and all the CCs I included in BK are reporting IIB EXCEPT those that sold off to collections. In this case the CC is reporting "sold off" and the Collection Agency is reporting as bad debt. And Sears is just reporting as open and bad debt. I assume I should attempt to contact both the Credit Card Companies AND the Collection agency to correct this to reflect IIB. Whew....got sum work to do.
  11. That is what I am figuring, since it's been 5 mos since discharge. Just wondering if I should attemot to use the existing card. I guess i should pull my reports first.
  12. So I guess the consensus is that the CC company AND the others sending me unsecured offers are STILL unaware of my CH7? That's what I'm tryin to figure out.
  13. That's what I figured, but as of now I still have an account and just recently received new cards from them. Also, I am STILL getting offers for unsecured cards. Wondering if it just taking this long for them to realize that I filed, but my discharge was in FEB. edit As I said, I NEVER used it so it wasn't a debt at any time. More confused.
  14. Thanks. My BK was discharged on 2/25/05 and I am still currently recieving offers for UNSECURED cards. Is it just possible that they are unaware of the BK? Also, at the time of my BK I had a CC that I had never used that was not included. They have yet to cancel that card. Is it safe to use that one? Thanks for all the help. Must be a tough one. I figured as much. Anyone........Anyone? Bueller?
