  1. I applied back in July and was declined because of derogatory remarks on my credit report. I called and tried to get reconsideration and was told I must first clear up all negative items on my reports. So I put the two remaining items in dispute and hoped for the best. Well everything came back verified and again American Express told me no. Yesterday I pulled my reports via PG and see that American Express pulled another hard inquiry so now I'm pissed!. I call AE getting ready to hit them with the non PP since they had already denied me twice and they had no business pulling my file again. They explained I was denied because I had a consumer statement on my file and they needed to find out why as well as verifiy my work number so they can call and confirm my identity ...whatever. I gave them my number and they called me back within 2 minutes to tell me my new Blue Card is on its way.
  2. My wife filed for bankruptsy before we were married, The discharge became final around Febuary of last year now, 98% percent of the tradelines on her credit report show as "Included in Bankruptsy". My question is, Is that the way its supposed to show up ?

  4. well the Supervisor I spoke to agreed that the account was closed back in 2001 and it show closed on the other two CRA's. I have about 25 credit reports that show it as open
  5. I've checked and re-checked everything. Account paid in full and closed but was never updated with Equifax Inquiries are not PRM

  7. I don't have any other accounts with Citi and this account was closed over two years ago. From what I understand they have no reason to be pulling my file since I no longer do business with them. I opted out about 2 months ago and it even states that on my report. Do you think I have grounds to sue them ? If so what do you think I should go for ? The Supervisor already told me that there is no way they are going to remove the inquires and to make this even worse, He said they need to pull my report again to confirm that it is listed as open. I told him that I would consider each inquiry as a sperate violation... Any Advise ?
  8. I had a citi bank master card that I closed back in 2001. Now that I am working on re-building my credit I see that this account was listed as open and each and every month Citi bank has been making inquires on my report. Do I have grounds to sue because the account was closed back in 2001 and they continued to pull my file ? I spoke to them and explained the mess, the csr told me there was nothing they could do, I asked for their legal department and they said they can't transfer me because that would have to be done in writing. I asked for a Superviser and told him that unless they update my file to show account closed and remove every inquiry since 2001 I will be filing a law suit against them. What do you guy's / gal's think ?

I just got off the phone with Equifax and was told by one of their CSR's that it is not their job to verify or validate the info on my report, all they do is write to the original creditor and update my report with the info the original creditor supplied. I asked her if she was aware that I can sue them for reporting inaccurate information and she said that she was aware of that and to go right ahead and sue them. I can't believe this BS, I didn't want to get into with her since I'm at work but I will be calling back to speak with a Supervisor to complain about the lack of customer service they have.
  10. I just got off the phone with the FTC and they did confirm that BMW violated by not updating my report when the account was paid in full and closed. What steps should I take ?
  11. Thanks for your advise, I am new to this and I do have time on my side. I won't be buying a house till next summer. It's just that I can't help but feel like BMW kicked sand in my face. I will let them settle in for a couple of months before I start disputing them again.
  12. Well for one (although it will do me no good) the Rep admitted that they were in error in keeping the account open with a balance. Should I just forget about it ?

I posted earlier how BMW was showing an open balance on my report for an account that was closed over a year and a half ago and when they updated the balance to zero they added a total of 8 late payments that they failed to report during the life of the loan. 623. Responsibilities of furnishers of information to consumer reporting agencies [15 U.S.C. ยง 1681s-2] (A) Reporting information with actual knowledge of errors. A person shall not furnish any information relating to a consumer to any consumer reporting agency if the person knows or consciously avoids knowing that the information is inaccurate. Would that be considered a violation ?

  15. The customer service rep told me that by law they had to report accurate information but he did not say anything about a time frame. I mean if I was 30 days late then why didn't they report it then? why wait a year and a half to report late payments ?
