  1. Tremendous, Gunny! But just wait till the Swede gets out of the brig!
  2. Her credit probably isn't that bad then. Does she have any established credit that she's been paying on at all? She might want to get a secured card if she doesn't to establish a history. I think you can probably get those negs whacked pretty easily of they're that old.
  3. Strive, I think you just need to follow the process and see how it plays out. Is the flowchart still in use by folks here? Worst case scenario you pfd 'em if they validate, no?
  4. Haha, I KNOW they're dead! Was just using them as an example. They were such dirtbags too...
  5. SW94608 - 30% Not sure for hom long though. Thanks, if I need the bank contacts I'll pm you. I had Providian contacts. They absolutely hated me. Made me fax a copy of my drivers license to them with signature to do a match. Also had all the execs emails for the CRA's and need to see who's in charge there now.
  6. You too Strive! Let me know if I can lend a hand.
  7. BTO, Question. Is not the CRA also on the hook for continuing to validate a time barred debt? If it were me I would email every executive at the CRA demanding (in a diplomatic fashion) that an authorized representative contact my within 48 hours to resolve the situation. I would also include in my email the numerous attempts I had made to go through regular customer service channels.
  8. Hi Cincinnatus, Thanks for saying hello. First, let me say that the most important thing I learned regarding credit repair was to pay it forward. I learned from some great folks here and took it to a pretty serious level. Then I helped others as best as I could. Back in February of '05 I went to Borders and brought the Dummies Guide To Credit Repair. I saw this site listed in the book so I simply read up on this site and began posting. What I did differently than some I believe was I treated this like a full-time job. My wife thought I was crazy. My credit situation at that time was due in major part to my ex-wife. My situation now is due both to myself and to the economy. Losing a job is not a choice and we all have to cover ourselves in one way or the other. Protect our a$$(ets) as it were. regarding the specifics to my credit repair, I really pushed the envelope. I learned the DV/Dispute/MOV process very well. I bypassed regular customer service at both the CRA's and the OC's. I learned how to locate email addresses for the entire board of directors for virtually any company I targeted and emailed them DAILY. I actually remember having a senior level Equifax admin delete my last two negs and about 7-8 inquiries in one fell swoop. After my score went from 539 to 768 i purchased my first home one month later and still live in it today, thank God. That's the good news. Having a business partner screw me out of over 30k is the bad news. Pulled my TU and EQ this morning on MYFICO (30% off if anyone needs the code!) and it isn't pretty. 496 and 493 respectively. I know it won't be easy, but I now have financially rebounded and am in a position to make things happen. I'd really like to do this not for myself but to show to others how it can be done. Maybe it will help them out too. So, I'm going to take a shot and say that by the end of the year I'll be in the 730 range. GAME ON.
  9. Hi friends, I originally found this forum in early 2005 as a complete newbie. I took my credit from a 539 average to a 768 average within six months. I also met some very nice people here along the way. They helped me and I paid it forward. Isn't that what it's all about? Well, the economy hit me very hard and my once sterling credit has taken some severe blows. It's time to get it on again. To any debt collectors who may be lurking: I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick a$$. And I'm all out of bubble gum. Thanks, (future) Credit Superstar. ***ETA....I haven't even run my FICO's yet (tomorrow) and I'm just cringing with fear...lol.
  10. In Connecticut. Answer to your question. Stupidity. I know they can't attach her funds or unemployment. I'm wondering if they can take anything at this time if I'm unemployed though. Thanks, bro.
