  1. Once a private student loan has been referred to a collection agency, can the Original Creditor reverse this action? I defaulted on a private loan through the Univ of California and recently received a letter from the collection agency requesting payment...some company named Wyndham Professionals. My first reaction is to DV, but I'm sure they have my promissary note. I intend to pay the loan, but not to the collection agency. What shoud I do? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I start my path to fixing my credit...

  3. WOW. THose rates are not too bad. I was thinking upper 10's. The $900 car payment is fine with me as I am a young Engineer, have no other bills, and am looking into an '06 Corvette. Dare to dream 24 yrs old....always played it safe in college, now I am looking to have a little fun!! Most credit unions tell me 680+ will get me 5.9%. Anything below that will be about one or two more points. Below 620, and forget about it.
  4. What kind of rate would one normally see with 670 scores, no charge-offs, no BK, no collections, all accounts current, no lates for about a year, 60 month auto loan for about $45,000. No other payments except the car and about $250/month student loans. Income is ~$4750/month gross, not including overtime. Someone has to at least give me an idea????
  5. Will the lates affect a credit decision, even if I have decent scores like 670 to 680?
  6. What kind of rate can I get with these scores? I have an extremely low Debt to Income ratio and have FICO's and FAKO's in the 670's. I am looking for a $45k loan(60-72 months) and earn about $4,600/month gross. The only thing that is keeping my scores a bit low are some late pays about a year ago......the worst one being 120 days late exactly a year and one month ago, since then I have paid over $15,000 dollars worth of credit card debt, and am now only about $1500 in the hole(revolving). What kind of rate can I expect? And will the lates affect the credit decision.? All accounts are in good standing and current. TU 665 EXP 670 EQ 672
  7. condo.........450K+(this is in the Alhambra, CA area) We can probably afford about $2800/month. $1400 from me and $1400 from my bro. That leaves my D/I ratio right around 31%. Not counting my two previously stated student loans. I am an Engineer at the entry level, and expect my income to double within 5 yrs, and that is a very conservative outlook, considering the trend and need in SoCal.
  8. I am wanting to buy a new home in L.A., California. I have no clue how much I could potentially borrow. I make ~54K / YR. My middle score is 642. And the only debts I have are two students loans. One that I pay monthly ($209) and another paid quarterly ($174). I have about $50,000 for a down payment. I also have my brother that is a homeowner, that wants to buy a second home and help me out at the same time(potentially more down). His income is approx. $100,000/YR. His middle score is in the high 700's. What is the most we could qualify for and what kind of rates are we looking at (30 YR fixed)?
  9. Does anyone on here have an upper management contact for Chase credit cards. I tried Planet Feedback. I want to pay-off an account that was shown as being 30, 60, 90 and 120 days late (recently) in a row......I didn't pay the card for 4 months....it was NOT charged-off but sent to internal collections...it is now being shown on my credit report as 30, 60, 90, and 120 days late and has a remark of "Current/ was 150 days past due date". I owe Chase $1,800 dollars and am ready to pay for delete as this is my last account with derogatory information. This account was closed by Credit Grantor. Any suggestions from the Credit Afficianados out there????
  10. score booster.........any word on your new FICO's and what kind of changes you saw?
  11. Jeep.....I will do this. What kind of fees am I looking at when following through with an intent to sue. I just want to know what I am looking at when doing this. I will send it if it is not too expensive. Is there anyother way to go about this? Also......how close are FAKO scores to what a real lender uses or FICO. My FICO scores are still in the low 500's to high 400's. Yet my FAKO's are all high 500's like 590ish.
  12. yeah that is great....let me know....congrats. I disputed a 120 days late with Retail Services after I paid it off and they went ahead and updated as Paid as Agreed/Never Late. boosted my FICOscore about 38 points
  13. How many points are typically added to a score when designated as an authorized user on an account that has been in good standing for well over 15 years.
  14. yep...there was one change....after disputing a 60 days late and a 30 days late on my GEMB/Banana Republic account they got rid of the 60 days late, and replaced the PAYS AS AGREED remark to "Account Closed/ Not Paying as Agreed". how can I get rid of this, as I am sure this is what caused the drop.
  15. I need to get some late pays off my credit. If this doesn't work then I will just dispute. I want to try and keep them from removing the whole TL.......it has been open since march 2002.......or will it matter. I've had credit for about 7.5 years. 23 yrs old.
  16. I recently pulled my scores just to see the status of my investigation. Late pays were updated to Payed on time and my scores STILL tanked. Is it because I still have one account under investigation? 3/18/2005 3/25/2005 EQ 484 481 EX 540 486 TU 555 555 I am really pissed!!!! What happened?
  17. Please post.....as I too am dealing with CitiBank. I have 2 30 days and 1 90 days that I want to get rid of......let us know. GREAT WORK!!! THis SITE is the shiznitz.
  18. Just sent my first round of disputes through the BIG THREE online dispute process. I will wait for responses. If no movement I will move forward with CMRRR letters. Owing $12,000 in revolving but going to pay ~$2000/month until payed down total debt to 30% of limit on all open accounts. 3/05 EQ 540 EX 484 TU 555
  19. Well my score went from 518 to 528 in about 3 wks just from paying my bills on-time. I know, I know......but to get to the top, you have to get off your bottom!!! i will start disputing all my lates, pay down all my debts....like $10,000 in total.......and start bargaining with creditors now that i have about $6000 to work with. Anybody have any ideas. Has anyone ever negotiated to pay the entire balance off of a credit card for removal of negative reporting, such as 30 days . 90 days late. Will MBNA, or Citi budge? has anyone ever dealt with M&I bank? All the experts help me please!!!!
  20. Does anyone know how to do this? Can someone give me a sample letter for use? Thanks. Will getting inquiries removed that were placed on my record within the last two years help my credit scores go up?
  21. yep.......unemployed. So you saying I should make them aware of what my situation was and see if they remove the negs from each account, and report to the credit reporting agencies? What do you think my chances are? Assuming I have a good record of making payments with them prior to these last three or four months.
  22. does anyone know about how well CitiCARDS responds to "good will letters"?
  23. I have 5 accounts that have lates on them. All of these lates are in a 3 month stretch, with everything BEFORE this 3 month stretch being perfect payment history. How should I dispute these without having the whole Trade line deleted? Or should I just keep on paying these accounts on time and let time heal this stuff? HSBC (2) 30 days, (2) 90 days, (2) 120 days or more CitiCARDS (3) 60 days late Clout Financial (1) 30 days late MBNA (3) 30 days late CHASE (1) 30 days, (1) 60 days, (1) 90 days, (1) 120 days or more **Where can I get a letter to dispute inquiries to the CRA's?
