  1. Yea, I'm going to go that route. If they won't delete then I will just wait another year or so for it to drop on it's own. astiman, I've tried dealing with them but have had no luck.
  2. Hey, I just looked at the fax they sent me and it does say "This is an attmept to collect a debt, and any information obtained will be used for that purpose." Hmmm.....I need to read up on this 1692e(11). Thanks for that tip. hiblues, thanks for the sample letter. I will modify this and fax it to them today. Fizzle1979, thanks for that tip. And to the others that replied, thank you very much. I will post back my results. Thanks again, Orlando
  3. Over the weekend I received a call from a collection company (Tate & Kirlin) regarding an old Cross Country Bank account. The account is from 2001 with a balance of $285.18 To be honest, I don't mind paying the bill if I can get this off my report or at least to report without negative marks or I could wait for this to fall off. 11. I've got a collection account from a dental office back in 2001. My credit report shows; DATE OPENED 7/1/2001, DATE REPORTED 10/1/2001. The dollar amount is for $80 so I don't mind paying in full to get rid of this. I sent a PFD letter last week and got this reponse letter in the mail yesterday. RE: ACC- XXXX (Name of original creditor) WE WILL NOT REMOVE THE ABOVE ACCOUNT FROM CREDIT BEREAUS. IF YOU PAY IT, WE WILL SHOW IT AS PAID IN FULL AT THE CREDIT BUREAUS.
