  1. Hey 20 OR 25 percent is a great rate to settle with FNBO.... Get it in writing....congrats.....!
  2. Wow, that would be great news if true... They are truly scum..... Although I feel for some of the regular employees if this is true, I hope the owners and supervisors RIH.
  3. Credit One is scum, high fees.... Orchard is actually quite good, altho you may get an initial AF....
  4. It's only $150. Contact the OC directly, see what you can do.....
  5. If they put in on paper, and agree to not sell the remainder to a CA IN WRITING, and SIGN their form, then go for it.... If not, don't do it...verbal aint good enuf.......
  6. Find out when the judgement was obtained and by whom. Then, determine if you were legally served. If you were not, file a motion to vacate the judgement.
  7. In answer to your question, "samcar" don't spam the board.....with links to bogus DR organizations......
  8. Not familiar with Cali law, sorry...u may be correct...anyone have any experience?
  9. Unclear genius, I can't even begin to say how wrong you are on most things... Referring to Lexington Law is against the TOS here, amongst other things... PLEASE type in such a way that your posts are clear to read, it is VERY confusing--the way you post.....
  10. Dude, seriously, you have GOT to be kidding.....
  11. Don't be fooled by debt settlers/fixers or book salespeople: Read this, it's all you need: http://www.debt-consolidation-credit-repair-service.com/forums/showthread.php?t=257807
  12. Just do it on your own, Pepe... all you need is here in the stickies above... You don't need a $20 book, you don't need a Debt Settlement company... YOU can do it....empower yourself, and don't fall for the credit fixers/settlrs or book salespersons..... read this: http://www.debt-consolidation-credit-repair-service.com/forums/showthread.php?t=257807.
  13. Pepe...do NOT work with a debt fixer...do it yourself... They are all scams, seriously.
  14. Crap One is an OC.... not subject to FDCPA.....
  15. Credit Check Total is the best monitoring system, IMHO.....$19.95 a month, all 3 reports, FAKO scores and account histories, an you can get a new, updated report EVERY DAY!
  16. Wish I had better advice but in Crap Ones case, letting it age off is usually the only solution....if over $1K, watch out for possible lawsuits, but even that is hit or miss...early on I had 3 Crap One accts, ALL over $1K after all the CO add-ons, they only sued on one,,,they all aged off after 7 years....
  17. First, pulling your own reports will NOT affect your credit scores.... Secondly, I do ALL of my Experian disputes online. I have had MAJOR success doing it that way, but ONLY with Experian. TU and EQ are best done by Certified mail.....
  18. Attack it as an "unknown debt" in your lettres.....
  19. Depending on your situation 1) you can be sued, 2) you WILL be hassled by collectors, and 3) you may go bankrupt, if you aren't already.... Also, if they hassle you at work, you may lose your job, or have your wages garnished.... That's the straight and narrow of it.....
  20. The problem with just waiting it out is the trashed credit angle....been there, done that....took 6 long years to recover... Living on a cash basis is doable but you must be prepared for many setbacks enroute...The important thing is to prioritize your spending items....1) what you basically need for you and your family, and 2) evrything else.... Seriously, you will make it, but it takes time, tenacity, and a whole lot of patience... Good luck...stick with the forums and they will give you great advice......
