  1. the agency is called viking collection service inc. I have been logging all the calls but should I get a recorder and record them or is logging them enough?
  2. Is it legal for a collection agency to call 7 times in just over two hours? I am currently staying with my grandmother trying to get back on my feet after an injury at work and somehow they got a hold of her number. She has told them numerous times to please stop calling HER number or she will report this harrasment to the police. I just want to know if she really can take some kind of legal action. These guys are just nasty.
  3. Hi, I was called by a ca today and was told that they are now trying to collect on my chase credit card account. I have been late for a few months in a row but chase has always been paid and never notified me that my account was being sent to collections. The ca says that my account hasn't been paid on since last october but this isn't true. I can't help but feel like I'm being scammed for some reason. The balance beffore I sent chase $235 this month was approximately $1200 but the ca says I owe $1400 and he'll settle for $1000 dollars and I have til noon tomorrow to get it to him. I didn't give him any info and told him I was very confused about the whole thing and he was extremely rude to me for no good reason. So I got on the net and found this place and have been reading for the past three hours. I was hoping somebody could give me some advice on an appropriate course of action. I guess the first thing I need to do is get in contact with chase tomorrow but I have this strange feeling I will be told to deal with the ca. I would obviously like to get this taken care of but am not sure how to handle this. Any advice would really be appreciated as this is really stressing me out.
