  1. Hi Guru, Thanks for your quick response! I understand now that they have no control over what the OC will report, however is this also the case when the CA does not own the debt but rather has been commissioned by the OC to retrieve the debt on its behalf? Secondly, is there any other way to get the OC to change the TL other than a goodwill gesture? Do goodwill letters even work? Thanks again.
  2. Hi Everyone, I've been trying to negotiate a resolution with a couple of CA's. In one case, I've received the OASIS letter from Amex so I'd really want to finalize this asap and get my Amex back. In any case, in both cases I've offered a settlement which they've insinuated that they'd accept, however they both refuse to agree to a "paid in full" remark on the OC line saying that they "have no control over what the OC will change the TL to". He says that he's required as the CA to report to the OC that the account was paid, who in turn will mark the TL usually as "settled in full" or similar. I
  3. Hi everyone. Here's my situation. I've been in contact with NCO with regards to my Amex account. I've received an Oasis plan offer from Amex which states that I'll receive a card as soon as I pay in full, and I'd like to take that offer. Problem is this: I've told NCO I'm willing to pay in full if they agree to take all of their inquiries off of my credit report, as well as get Amex to state "paid in full" with no reference to a collections account and delete late payment history. NCO say that they have no way to request Amex to do that, but they also say that they won't delete any inquiries
  4. Thanks for your responses, but I'm mostly interested in finding out whether or not you have experience with them deleting the TL's as part of a settlement offer rather than in situations where you DV them etc... Meaning, an offer where "I'll pay what I owe if you delete all derogatory info" etc. Thanks again.
  5. Hi, Does anyone have any success stories negotiating with NCO and getting them to remove any derogatory information from your CR, including inquiries? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  6. Hi, Does anyone know what this is all about: theusagoldcard.com Seems too good to be true - apparently it's guaranteed with no credit check and they report to the bureaus. I must be missing something... Any ideas?
  7. Thanks for your response. My concern here is whether they will agree to delete late payment records off of my credit report, as well as show it as "Paid as Agreed"... I am aware that they'll give me a card only if I pay in full, however my question is whether or not they'll agree to delete the derogatory information... Any ideas?
  8. Hi. Thanks for your quick response. Just to clarify, I'm not trying to negotiate to pay a lower fee, rather I've agreed to pay the sum in full. My question is whether or not they tend to agree to deletion of any negative remarks such as late payment or collection etc as a result of paying the full fees. I'd like to get the Amex account to say "paid as agreed" with no historic late payments and get the collection agency to delete any inquiries. Interested in knowing whether anyone has had any success with this...
  9. Hi all, I've received the famous "regain membership" letter from Amex offering me an Optima card if I pay my card in full. This is a pretty good deal for me as I'd like to rebuild my credit ASAP. The account is being held by NCO and what I'd like to do is negotiate that Amex change my account status to "Paid as Agreed" and delete any late payments etc... plus get NCO to delete any inquiries. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any success stories? Do Amex tend to do this if someone's willing to pay the balance in full? Thanks for your help.

  11. Hi, Found this forum recently and is unbelievably helpful!!! I sent a DV letter as per this website and received the green card. I also disputed it with the CBA. I received a notice from the CBA saying that the item had been deleted from my CR, however after calling an enquiring to see what the reason was (out of interest) they informed me that it was the CA that requested the deletion... Meanwhile, I've received a letter from the CA that states the following: "In your correspondance you allege that EMCC, Inc has failed to properly validate your debt pursuant to the protections afforded by th
