  1. I haven't seen anything as of yet, but i'm expecting something from them in the next few months. Unfortunatly I started working on my credit before I found these boards. So I disputed Capital one, not knowing about waking the sleeping giant. After I joined these boards and have read about how sue happy Capital one is, I should have just let them sleep on my credit till the SOL expired. Now all I can do is wait. I do have legal care as a benefit of my job, so when the time comes i'll make sure to use them to respond to Capital one.
  2. On a charge off account? If you have the info of who you sent it to and the letter you sent them, would you mind sharing that info? I won't use your letter, I just want an idea of what to say. It's worth a shot to see what they can do. Thanks.
  3. I have two charge off accounts with Capital one. The date of first deliquency on one is from 2002 and the other is 2003. The cards originally had a $1000 credit limit. However with interest, late fees, and who knows what other charges they have added, the balance on one is over $3000 and the other is over $2000. Those are the two main black marks on my credit right now. Capital one still owes them. I disputed them both with all three credit companies and they came back verified and Capital one updated the date of last activity. So now i'm at a loss of what to do to get rid of them on my report. Has anyone tried to work out a pay for delete agreement with Capital one and had any luck with it?
  4. Congrats. Thats awseome. I've been a NFCU member since the mid 90's myself. I've had a few car loans through them over the years. I just applied friday for a CC with them and was approved with a $5000 limit. I hope that will help out my Fico score some.
  5. I've had my Hooters card for over a year. It is a very high interest rate. I think 29% or something like that. I started at $500 and it was increased to $900 a few months ago. I have a $0 balance on it right now. I may charge a tank of gas a month, then pay it off, just to keep it active.
  6. I was just approved for $200 as well. It's a start. My fiance and I actually do abit of shopping at Target, so it will get used. I'll just make sure to pay it off in full every month. Maybe after a year, i'll get an upgrade
  7. Hi everyone , I just wanted to make my first post here. I have been surfing these forums for a few months now and slowly working on my credit. There is some great information on these boards for people to use. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for sharing the knowledge you have worked for. Over the past 6 months, I've gotten my credit scores across the board to jump from mid 500's to well over the 600 mark. I have a few "starter cards" that i've had for almost 2 years and am officially graduating to my first prime card. My credit union just approved me for a $5000 credit card. It has a 14% interest, which isn't great, but it's better then some of the sub prime cards I have. I still have two charge off's with Crapital 1 that i'm working on. From what i've seen, they are a bear to deal with. I disputed them with the credit agency's and now they changed the date last reported to 05/07. I should have left them alone. Oh well. I've made so much progress on my reports from all the information here. I've made sure for the past two years, to pay all my bills on time and early. Then I started disputing things with the credit agency's a few months ago. That made a huge difference. Anyways, sorry for the long post, but I wanted to say thank you to everyone on here Now does anyone have any good tips for dealing with Crapital 1
