  1. I have been receiving 3-4 calls a day from a CA called ER Solutions. When I answer, it is always just a recording that states they recently sent me a letter and I have not responded. (A) I have never received any correspondence from an ER Solutions. ( No entry for ER Solutions appears on my credit report. I do not want to talk to ER Solutions under any circumstances and want them to stop calling. At the same time, if they are trying to collect a debt that is not mine, I want to know about it (and if they are trying to collect on something old and out of SOL on my own credit report, I want to know about it). Does anyone advise writing to this CA? And if so, what do I say? I don't even know what the debt is they are calling about. First and foremost, since they aren't showing up at this time on my CR, I want them to stop the calls. It's annoying, and from past experience, if I never take their call, they'll try to find me elsewhere -- and be rude to a family member. Thanks Leslie
  2. I defaulted on a student loan and stupidly avoided the CAs for a year. I finally got smart and started rehabbing in March 05, at which point I consolidated my loans and the defaulted one was paid off and closed out at a zero balance. Although the delinquencies started sometime in 04, they are reporting that my FIRST major delinquency was March 05 (the date the darn loan was paid off!!!) Therefore, they are also tacking at least a year onto the amount of time this bad loan will be reported. Suggestions??? Thanks Leslie

  4. Could someone clarify for me the rule stating that information must be reported consistently on the three CRs? I was under the impression that if only one CRA is reporting (and the other two or not), that they are in violation of the FCRA. Thanks Leslie
  5. I have a debt that was charged off by Discover over seven years ago. The charge-off no longer appears on my credit report; however, since it went off, the debt has been passed around to several different collection agencies. Most recently, it was bought in April 07 by a new one. How and when can I get ever get rid of this? Can collection agents continue to try to collect debts that have been charged off? Is it legal for them to continue to make it look like this is an active account? My credit has been cleaned up nicely -- this thing is the only lingering bad item, and the way it appears on my report now, it will be there at least another seven years. Any advice or recommendations? Thank you.
