  7. I posted this under another thread, but was thinking this might be the more correct thread. I'm trying to get some letters off today, but searched for other topics and couldn't find any info. on getting rid of things on your public record. A couple years ago, H&R Block really screwed up, and to make a long story short, I was tax levied by New York State. The debt is completely paid off, but it appears on both my Experian and Trans Union reports. (I'm still awaiting Equifax by mail.) Because H&R Block was in error, and I was unaware of the debt until I was levied and it was therefore paid off, is there ANY way I can fight this off my report(s)? Day
  8. Hi, guys! I am trying to get some letters off today to fight off the only adverse account I have on my credit! I found and am trying to follow the Debt Validation Technique. I used the sample letter found here: Sample Letter 9 - Requesting a Collection Agency to Validate a Debt I changed the beginning as I'm writing in response to actually pulling my report online, but then ran into a snag a few paragraphs in as it states that if they have reported this to the 3 credit bureau's I will take legal action, however, I clearly say in the beginning that I already KNOW they have reported it. Should I just take that part out or...? The debt is from a public library where I was the victim of identity theft before, and I never received a letter on this new debt from the library OR collection agency. Any help is REALLY appreciated! -Day
  9. Hey guys! So I searched the forums, but couldn't really find the info. A couple years ago, H&R Block really screwed up, and to make a long story short, I was tax levied by New York State.
