  1. Inquiries only make up a small part of your credit score, although I still recommend disputing them, they would only have a minimal effect on your over all score. These creditors have the right to pull you credit for review at any time during ( I am assuming a loan), your loan term with them. I am not sure what your scores are, and if you are trying to get some extra points from your inquiries, but I would stick to the negative items on the credit report if any, but don't give up on the inquiries keep disputing them they will come off it just may take some time.
  2. Sure their is a way to turn bad credit into better credit without time. Yes time is important, but really if you need credit do you really have 7-10 years for this stuff to fall off your credit report, I woulden't wait. I would pull my credit report which is free at freeannualcreditreport.com, then I would start disputing the " in accurate " stuff like everything, but not all at one time. There is a guide on this site that can help. Just remember to send your disputes certified mail!! This link will help http://www.creditinfocenter.com/repair/Repair.shtml
  3. I would write Alltel a letter explaining the situation in a nice way and also tell them if this is not cleared up you will file complaint with the FCC, BBB, and AG. I think the FCC regulate cell phone companies? This should clear up the matter in a civil way. MAke sure the only balence on the account is the disconnect fee
  4. No other fees can be added to the balence other that intrest? What if they cahrge it off or somthing like that can they still keep applying intest to the balence? Sorry for all the questions!!!
  5. Can they not add interest to the balance as it is being reported to the CRA? Or should the balance reflect at the last time a payment was made or last activity on the account?
  6. Right now banks are being very very tight with their lending and appraisals due to the down in the real estate market. I would also check your debt to income ration, and if your income supports your debts. I would then try to deal with a broker. I find that when the banks cant get the loans done the broker can usually because they deal with so many types of lenders , now on the down side you will pay a broker fee or some kind of fee for them getting the loan done. First of all check your credit report to make sure you score so you know where you stand from that point. I hope this helps becau
  7. Thanks for the reply that really helps out!!! Would you ever send a DV letter inside the SOL? or would you wait until it has expired?
  8. That sounds like a signed contract to me. I not sure you would get you money back that you paid them, I think you would definetly have a case for deformation of characte. The first step I would do is mail them a letter that you request to have the item removed from you CR and include a copy of the signed and dated letter that they have signed and state that if it is not taken off then you will file suit pluse contact the BBB and their Atty General. For deceptive practice. Then if they remove the item I would think that you would have another violation on them. Just my opinion
  9. Who is Resurgent and where do I get their address? Do I need to be specific about why I am sending the letter? Should I still DV them enenthough my SOL is 10yrs I have 4 years left of my SOL? Thanks
  10. I have used the letter on the web site to send my DV letter I have changed some miner things includinf some specific reason for the dv letter pls let me know what you think or should I not send it . My SOL is 10yrs in my state Re: Date of account open (0/0000) is inaccurate and request a full validation of account To Whom It May Concern: This letter is being sent to you in response to a Credit Bureau Investigation. Be advised that this is not a refusal to pay, but a notice sent pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 USC 1692g Sec. 809 ( that your claim is disputed and validat
  11. I have an LVNV ( the OC was Washington Mutual) on my credit report that has date opened 09/2003 I know for a fact this account is older than 2003. I don't have any old documents to prove that, as I lost them in Katrina, so is the burden of proof on them to prove that the account was opened in 2003 and should I send a DV letter to them. I have disputed online,I know know that was a bad move, but it came back verified. I also pulled out an old credit report and the balence has jumped $1,000 is that then adding intrest to the account. It is scheduled to fall off in 7/09. I don't know what my next
  12. I have been doing my part in my credit repair process, and got some real good advice from this forum, but after reading all the laws from the FCRA, and the FDCPA I think I am going to be placed back into collections for my brain hemerage I'm about to have!!!! Is there any place ie web site that translate the law verbage to somewhat of plain english, so that someone just starting out can understand and not quote the wrong section of the code and make myself look like a jacka@#!!! thanks for putting up with the Newbe!!!

  14. I had disputed some items on my credit report and have just reveived a letter stating that the information was verified. Should I send a Mv letter back to the credit bureaus, or am I just wasting time with this method? I also plan on sending DV letter to the collection agency also. What is the difference if any of a DV and Debt Investigation Letter. THanks So Confussed!!!
