  1. Hi - My child lives in MS - I live in NC. I provide insurance for my children. My wife took my child to the doctor and there was $200 which was not paid. I NEVER received any notice from the dr's office or CA that this had not been paid. I pull my credit - and I have a new collection. I've read lots of posts - yes I know I should owe it.. and don't mind paying it. I just DON"T want it on my CR!!! Is there anything you can suggest I use to fight this on my credit report? Can they legally put it on my CR with NO notice to me?
  2. Thank you! With the judgment falling off in June, is there any other way this judgment could affect me? I was considering buying a house - could they come after that still? Or affect me in some other way? Your help would be greatly appreciated!!
  3. Hi - With cleaning up my credit, I have a judgment that will be 7 years old in June. My understanding is that after 7 years is should drop off my credit so that wouldn't be a concern.... I believe? If true, is there any other way this judgement could affect me? I was considering buying a house - could they come after that still? Or affect me in some other way? Your help would be greatly appreciated!!
  4. Hi - I have a charged off car loan on my credit report. From my reading on this site, I believe it can stay on your credit report for 7 years from the date you were first delinquent?? However, what if you were delinquent then became current again? Also, does this mean from FIRST delinquency or when it was charged off? In my example, they reported.... Loan opened in Dec 2003 First reported 60 days late in July 2003 Reported OK again in June 2004 30 day late in July 2004 Charge off in October 2005 Please help!!
  5. I've been working HARD to clean up my credit then I get a $30 collection from Absolute Collection Service. I live in NC and my ex lives in Mississippi with my children. She took them to the doctors in Mississippi and used the insurance to pay for it (I cover the kids with my insurance) but didn't pay the copay. I had NO knowledge of this but they put on MY credit because they said the insurance is in my name? I didn't sign anything at the doctor. I received NO letters from the doctor or insurance company. Can they do this? I asked if they would remove if I paid and they said NO. ] What's my best action?
  6. I'm not quite sure which method to use? Are these collection agencies? Or should I do the thing if I pay will they take off my CR? Anyone have any luck with negotiating? They are for returned checks from 12/07 for $559 and $985. I'm in NC - I think SOL is 3 years? Is this different for checks? (I know i've had a couple posts but hope someone can help - on round 2 of cleaning up!! - Working on this for 3 months now - got 5 things removed!! )
  7. What's the best way to go about confirming a returned check that Certegy is reporting on Equifax? Its from December 2007 to Best Buy -$985. I bought several things from them at Christmas - and don't think I bounced any checks - bad time and going through divorce. I never received anything in the mail from them if I did. Can anyone help me - with Certegy - Do you ask them to validate? Send a 623 email? Call them first? Do they have to come up with a check to prove it? Anything on SOL for bad check? Is there ANY negotiations with them to remove TL? Any help much appreciated!
  8. Credit One Bank I've received response from CRA that Credit One Bank validated my credit card on my credit report..... from 10/06 for $250 (I don't even remember this? - probably my ex) Following the steps on this GREAT website.. I'm now about to do a 623 dispute and "Call up the Credit Card company and ask them what kind of documentation they have to prove the negative mark." Hopefully they'll have nothing and I'll send them the letter this website suggests.... Anyone have experience with this? Any specific things to say or ask? How do I find the right address to send email to? Does this really worK?? I'm nervous!
  9. Hi - I can't find much on Charge-offs on the forum and hope you can help. I have a charge off from Mazda American Credit from 10/05- but the "Paid Charge Off; Auto" Amount is $0 on Experian and nothing in Equifax. I tried to dispute as not mine but the creditor validated it. (I think this is from where I traded a car in?) Is it hurting my credit that much if the charge off is $0? Am I "waking old dogs" if I try to dispute with CRA? Anything else I can do directly with Mazda to get removed? Any help would be appreciated!!!!
  10. I understand the ratio of current balance to credit limit for revolving credit affects your score. But does the ratio of current balance to high balance on INSTALLMENT credit for one's open accounts affect your score? In Oct 09, I had BK13 DISC but had student loans - when they put them back on my credit report the high balance didn't take into consideration the amount I started paying 5 years ago but instead reflected the balance as of Oct 09. (It does reflect my timely payments over last 30 months.) Question: With my current balance of $29,600, is it better for my report to show on Installment Student Loan - $30,000K (original amount) vs. $38,000K (amount as of my DISC in 10/09)?
  11. Hope someone can help me clarify? I have several items that show "date 1st delinquency reported as 6/03". The expenses were from earlier in 2003/ A) Is the reporting time for medical expenses 7 years (?) When would it be considered first delinquent to start that 7 years? C) Do you have to go by the collection agency 1st delinquency? Or can I ask them to remove them because the expenses are from an accident in 12/02

  13. Thanks for your response - If I did contact the state bar association and file a bar complaint, would it help me with payment of the $4000? Also, it was a personal Injury lawsuit against the driver of the car and his insurance. With this information, is there something I can do now?
  14. I have a $4000 judgment against me I had NO idea about!! 1)How successful would I be to sue the CR agency? 2)Should my lawyer be held liable? 3)Do I have any rights to get this taken off my credit report? or the judgment reversed? Details: In 2003, my kids were in a car accident in Mississippi. We hired laywers and the lawsuit was settled in 2008. After pulling my CR, I found I had a judgment from 2004 for my kids unpaid medical bills. (should have been paid from the proceeds of the settlement.) I moved to another state in June 2004 and the lawsuit was not filed until August 2004. The constable also served me at my previous address in Mississippi by placing the summons on our doorstep, or door. I never received it, nor was I ever personally served. They also filed it in another city (another jurisdiction according to my lawyer) that was not where the accident happened, where we lived at the time of the accident, nor where the collection agency was at. Nor did they apparently inform the judge that the matter was being handled in a lawsuit filed in another court, in another city. When I contacted the lawyer in Mississippi about the matter, she stated in an email that she never received anything from the collection agency (which is untrue) Because, last week I contacted the collection agency and they faxed me copies of their call detail and fact records for the case and it shows the times and dates in which our attorney was contacted in 2004.
  15. On the following webpage (http://www.creditinfocenter.com/creditreports/cr_time.shtml ) It states: Information concerning a lawsuit or a judgment against you can be reported for seven years or until the statute of limitations runs out, whichever is longer; Is this seven years after you pay it? Or seven years after the judgment is given?
