First off , I do recognize who the plantiffs is and yes this account is mine ... Without going into details .. Life happen and I couldn't pay this debt.... What are my options Right now , Could I attempt to settle ?
  3. If I do a PFD all through email is that a legally binding contract if CA agrees, Or is it best if I just do it through mail?
  4. Settling a $2115 collection for 25% Tough bargain , I now need to get everything in writing.... Chargeoff is about 12 mnths old
  5. Would settling for less have any effect on improving your trade line on a credit report and since the damage is done to my report from the OC how long would I see a positive jump in score after settling?
  6. If I'm unsuccessful in getting a PFD ,what should I be asking for? I would like for my trade line on my Credit report to be listed in good standing....
  7. I would like to settle , Negotiate and PFD on this account....

I've recently been getting phone calls from Alliance one , They said they are handling my account that's been defaulted since 2015(Citi), I've also recently reviewed my credit report but they are not listed on the report .... The agent I spoke with said he was from Alliance one and Authorized to collect for citi... Who owns this Account ?Citi or Alliance one , How do I proceed With handling this account ? I've contacted citi but they said alliance one is handling this account going forward....
  9. So here I am again , Just received a new letter in the mail from a different collection agency , my account was sold again ...... The letter states Dear XXXXXX This letter is to inform you that the above account has not been paid and has been placed with our company for collections procedures. This letter serves as a notification that your delinquent account may be reported to the national credit bureau. Our agency has been authorized to settle your account for $36.XX . To take advantage of this settlement offer, please remit payment on 10/XX/11. So I contacted them, I tried to negotiate a pay for delete, Asked for a Supervisor , The guy said that they will not report it , if I pay it . They will send me a paid in full letter , But not a agreement on having this completely removed from all 3 credit Bureaus. "company Policy" He stated that since it has not been reported , "if I make my payment by Paying the Full amount of Sixty one dollars by10/XX/11 . It will not be reported," It has to be paid before this date. They can't do it for the settlement amount for 3X.XX . He said in a month if it shows up on my reports to contact him . He also provide me with his name and EXT # . I don't believe him . I checked my Credit monitoring service and the old JDB is no longer reporting . Their is no Negative TL. I've done this in the past and and it worked out , I'm not too sure if i can believe this guy. What is next? Would a simple letter stating if they cashed this check for $XX.XX . They agree not to report to the 3 credit bureau and the account is satisfied work?

I've tried disputing it, it came back Verified I've tried a Pay for Delete , I get no Response back from the JDB I've contacted the JDB and get the run around ....... How much of a Ding does a paid Charge off puts on your Credit file ? I would pay it but I am not getting what I want in return. All for SIXTY ONE DOLLARS What is my next step ? maybe a 623 to the OC?
  12. If it is out of the SOL , I would toss the letter in the trash.
  13. Bait and Switch? Hold your ground . I believe you should offer what you can afford to pay, The agents gets paid on commission , so try to negotiate with one person...good luck.
