  1. There is a fee to activate the card and don't lose the card!!!
  2. Great video I really liked it, could you keep me updated on your videos when you come out with more?
  3. hi, I don't know much about being sued from a CA but I do know from reading here that DV is no longer worth doing. The first thing you NEED to do is answer the summons (deny what they are sueing you for). That's all I know I'm sure other people have more info
  4. Hey, This is my personal advice to you 1. Don't get the car loan. 2. Buy a car for $1500. 3.Build up a $2000 emergency fund. 4. START to repair your credit. 5. Don't get into 20k more into debt
  5. I would tell them that they need to get their story straight with each other if they want any money and when they do that to send you a settlement offer in the mail and you will edit the settlement terms as you see necessary.
  6. I think I made a mistake and I sent a DV letter without them sending me a collection letter.. see I just sent it because I pulled my credit report and they were on it and I dont know why. What should I do about this?
  7. its TNB-Target and they are on my credit report and I don't remember owing them anything. I pulled my CR and found their name on it so I decided to DV them because they say I am 2 months behind on paying something I have no idea what it is.
  8. Hey all, 30 days ago I sent a DV letter and *cricket cricket* they have not responded! What letter do I send out now and to who??? please help!!
  9. My first attempt was pretty successful in settlement of a debt (thanks to you guys). So here is another letter I am sending out... I probably won't hear back for about a week or two but I will keep you all updated as to what happens when I hear back. To give you an idea of what happened they mailed me a settlement offer and I am just letting them know certain terms and agreements they must follow in order for me to pay them. Here is the letter I am mailing out today certified return recepit. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Reference ########### In regards to your Settlement Offer dated July 20, 2011 To Whom It May Concern: LLNV Funding LLC, referred to as COLLECTION AGENCY and (my name), referred to as CONSUMER, agree to resolve the matter of the alleged debt, originally held by Ge Capital/Old Navy, hereafter referred to as the CLIENT. CONSUMER hereby agrees to settle this alleged debt claimed by COLLECTION AGENCY on the following terms and conditions: The COLLECTION AGENCY certifies that it is legally authorized to act in behalf of its CLIENT and that any agreement that the COLLECTION AGENCY makes on behalf of CLIENT is legally binding on the CLIENT. The COLLECTION AGENCY and the CONSUMER agree that alleged debt is $922.21 (nine hundred twenty two & 21/100 dollars). While the CONSUMER feels that validity of the debt has not been proved by the COLLECTION AGENCY, the parties agree that COLLECTION AGENCY shall accept the sum of $276.66 (two hundred seventy six & 66/100 dollars) as full payment on the debt. The acceptance of the payment will serve as a complete discharge of all monies due, and the COLLECTION AGENCY agrees to consider the debt paid in full and agrees to not take further action to collect on the alleged debt. The payment shall be made in the form of a money order. Upon payment of the $276.66, the COLLECTION AGENCY agrees to remove any listing or information that the COLLECTION AGENCY may have placed on the CONSUMER’S credit report. The COLLECTION AGENCY agrees to never at any time in the future place any information on the CONSUMER’S credit report. The CONSUMER feels that the negative information on CONSUMER’S credit report is damaging and while the exact estimation of the damage is not currently known, the CONSUMER estimates it to be $10,000 (ten thousand dollars and zero cents). Should the COLLECTION AGENCY fail to remove the listing or reinsert it at a later date, the COLLECTION AGENCY agrees to award liquidated damages of $10,000 to CONSUMER. This compromise is expressly conditioned upon the payment being received by August 20, 2011. If the CONSUMER fails to pay the compromised amount by August 20, 2011, this contract will be immediately terminated. The person signed this agreement, ____________________________________, hereby declares that he/she is authorized to act as an agent of the COLLECTION AGENCY. This Agreement shall be binding upon and inure to the benefit of the parties, their successors, and assignees. Dated: July 29, 2011 Signature: ________________________________ Legal Representative of LVNV Funding LLC Signature: _________________________________ (my name)
  10. Hal Jordan -- Thanks -- I think this is exactly what I wanted to hear!! I will keep you updated on my credit repair progress - I started on baddie number 2 today.
  11. I just really want to make sure they take it off my CR.. because they sent me a letter saying it will get deleted do I have legal grounds to sue them if they dont? thanks
  12. let me give you some background information. I requested a free copy of my trans union credit report (no score, its low 600’s though) The first baddie on my report I decided to act on was my Target CC. I owe target $829.01 and guess who bought my account… RJM … woohoo…. I sent them a settlement contract (the one on here) and offered to settle with them for $248.70 (30%). The settlement letter is the one where they have to take it off my credit report and never bother me again etc etc… I sent two copies certified RR. One for me and one for them to send back signed. I just received their response and they didn’t send back my letter, instead they sent their usual green statement revised based on my offer… Can you guys please read this and tell me how I should go from here? should I pay it or are they tricking me. Here is what they sent: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear me, RJM acquisitions LLC (RJM) is pleased to accept the sum of $248.70 in full satisfaction of the above referenced account. Please pay by July 28, 2011. When you finish paying, this account will be satisfied in full, and, as per your specific request, RJM will have our reporting of this account deleted with Experian and Trans-Union. Please enclose the bottom portion of this letter along with your payment. You can pay by: blah blah blah RJM is the owner if this account. This is an attempt to collect a debt. Any information obtained will be used for that purpose. See back of letter for important information. This communication is from a debt collector. The bottom where I tear off and send in with my payment is two check boxes, one says YES, ENCLOSED IS MY PAYMENT OF $248.70. MY ACCOUNT IS NOW SATISFIED IN FULL. The second check box says Please delete RJM’s reporting of this account from my credit report. ((on the back of the letter it says IMPORTANT INFORMATION with a bar code but nothing is below it)) Then on the way bottom is a check of box if my address changed and it says where to make my check or money order payable to. Thanks for the advice.
  13. Okay thanks for working with me,,, I'm new at this haha.. Okay so I already sent them the letter and they responded, I didn't pay them anything yet, do you have a sample letter I could use to have them verify the debt? thanks so much
  14. Hey Noway, thanks for the reply!! I'm not really disputing the validity of the debt... I kinda know its mine. RJM is pretty popular and I am sure they are a legal licensed debt collector. I just want to settle with them for the least amount and get the negative-ness off my credit report. SOL is up in 2013 but I'd rather clear this up now. Do you think they are really going to remove the info off my credit report or are they BSing me? What do you think?
