  1. I'm BAAACCKK! Just a little background - Using this forum, I went to FL court Pro Se to fight collection on cc not in my name. The CA could not provide anything that tied me to the account and entered voluntary dismissal in March 2013 before I could file for dismissal with prejudice. I objected to the judge, saying they would just sell the account to another CA and file again. The judge told me it was unlikely since they have to pay to file. Whatever!!!!!!!!! August, 2013 I received a collection letter from a new CA. I sent a letter of dispute. They wrote me after receiving my certi
  2. More good news! Transunion has concluded their investigation of my dispute. Only 4 bad tradelines remain on my credit file. YAY! What now? I know I can re-dispute the tradeline for a CA because have incorrect last 4 digit of SSN. But the OC is still reporting this tradeline. What are my chances of getting both removed with the information CA gave me? Another CA has a medical bill that I DV'd them on but have yet to receive anything. I sent the hospital a letter too. I am considering writing to the president/chairman of the hospital's board regarding my case. Is this a good idea? The
  3. Hi guys! so...great news! I got 4 negative items deleted from my transunion credit report!! I'm so excited! I sent a letter to Experian as well with 3 items listed as "not mine" but they responded asking for my SSN, date of birth, utility bill, and address for the last 2 years. Aggravating! So i will have to resend all that information and try again. I haven't started with letters to equifax yet. Tried to get a free report from them but they won't send it. Tried twice. So I guess I will have to pay for it because I've already used up my free annual report. now I'm wondering... ju
  4. Hi, I'm been doing a little reading on this but I'm still unsure as to how to go about this, so I'm hoping someone here can help me. A few months ago, I pulled up my credit report and realized there were two entries on it from a certain telephone company. I disputed the entries with all three credit bureaus; they all came back verified. I then called the telephone company, and was told that these accounts were 'at a zero balance' and that they did not have any original records on them. I did get the representative's name, customer ID, and date/time of call (I take good notes! lol), so he
  5. I disputed with the big 3. All had the same 4 neg TLs. TU is clean, EX & EQ deleted and keep the same two TLs. The four TLs were related. I had a retail credit card (Lane Bryant). In 12/07 the card number was stolen, charged up online and the fraud was reported. I closed the account after fraud investigation was completed and fraudulent amounts removed. 6 years later I pulled reports to find 4 neg TLs concerning this account. OC reports "Transfer/Sold, Purchased by another Lender, etc" Comenity Banks reports two TLs, with two different account numbers as "Purchased by another lender"
  6. Greetings to all the wise ones!! I have spent the last 24hrs reading every nook and corner of this forum to find answers to my specific problem to no avail! Please help me out so I can achieve my dream!! I am in process of buying my first home, when I went for my pre-approval the mortgage specialist(MS) ran my credit and picked my median score of 660 to grant me the pre-approval letter. My 3 scores were 654/660/679, That was back in April. Fast fwd 3 months and I finally found a house that fits my budget, the paperwork went to underwriting(UW) and I found out I got denied, because my media
  7. Hi Everyone! This is my first post on the forum, though I've been lurking for awhile. First, let me thank all those who are providing this fantastic service! I found your site after getting a letter from Midland inviting me to settle an alleged old credit card debt. I had never heard of Midland, wasn't sure what to do, and found your site while googling information on how to handle them. I'm so glad that I did! I have learned so much from you... including the fact that the debt they were writing to me about is outside the SOL. Needless to say, Midland never got a response from me.
  8. I read on another board that collections accounts should not be reporting terms. I have two collection accounts that I am in the process of disputing. Both of these accounts are listed on my credit report as collection accounts and both term 1 month. I read that if I never entered into any type of agreement with the collection agency that this should not be listed with terms since no terms were agreed upon. Does anyone think this would be a valid and succesful way to dispute these items with the credit bureaus?
  9. Hello! I am new to the forum! I decided to tackle my husband's credit repair on my own, he has 3 accounts in collections and I want to make sure I am doing things the right way. I pulled his credit report from the Experian website on 3/6/13. The report contains information for all three CB's (Credit Bureaus). I am going to start sending dispute letters through certified mail. Here are a couple of questions: If I pulled report from, do CB's still have 45 days to respond to my dispute letter? If yes to answer above - when will they have to reply in 30 days or less? (When
  10. Anyone have any idea how to dispute on Experian without buying a report? I just need to have it updated because a judgment was satisfied. I don't want to pay another 15 for this. With Transunion and Equifax I know how but can't figure this out. I know in the past I found a link to be able to do it, but can't figure it out now. Any help?
  11. I'm sorry if this has been asked before. I'm posting from my cell and it's very hard to look through searches. Am I correct in understanding that a dispute with a credit bureau should take no more than a month? I've read that it must be completed in 30 days and possibly a 15 day extension if the disputer provides more information. So, if I entered a dispute online with Equifax on 1/7, should it not be required to be completed by now today? Any idea of what my next course of action would be if it is not?
  12. Ok, so I have 3 collections on my reports. I've sent letters to the three attempting to settle/PFD. If it's been a couple of weeks and I haven't gotten a response, should I dispute them with the credit reporting agencies, hoping they won't respond to them? What happens if I dispute and they do respond to the CRAs? Does that change anything with the collection/possible settlement process?
  13. Hi, I dont know unique my situation is, but I have serached various forums to see if others have been in a similar situation with no succes. My Girl Friend opened a credit card with M&T Bank a little over a year ago. The billing address on the account is in MD (i resided in NY if that matters). She applied online for the CC and was approved. AFTER the card was open we later called in and added me as an AUTHORIZED user. When the representative asked her for my social security number, she handed me the phone to speak with them. I excplictly asked "why do you need my social security numbe
  14. HI everyone. I have been dealing with a negative mark on my credit report. I made biggest mistake of my life and co-signed someone for his auto loan. It was over 14K auto loan and this guy decided not to pay the last $1800. After about 4 months of non-payment, the account went to collection in August. On December 11th I received a credit report from Transunion which stated the pay status of this account as "Account paid in full, was a charge off". About a week after receiving this report I updated my credit report with Transunion web site and guess what? The pay status was changed to "Charge O
