  1. About 7 or 8 years ago, I stopped paying on an overdraft account from a bank I (still) have a checking account with. When this overdraft account became delinquent, it was closed, sent to collections and dropped off my online account access. I was able to get this off my CR last year. Fast forward a couple of months ago, my bank updated to a new online system and lo and behold this account showed up. So my question is What do I do now? They are not reporting it on my credit report. But if I start paying on it, the time will restart correct? Do I just leave it as is and if it gets reported to my CR dispute that it is a zombie debt? Please help
  2. Hi All! I was a member here back in 2005-2008 and this forum, moderators and others really helped me then so, I hope you can do the same now. My FICO's have been in the dumpster ever since my home went into foreclosure in 2009. In 2008, I had major health crises and underwent 5 operations and recovered for 2 years. CitiMortgage foreclosed on me in 2009 and despite having a lawyer, court appearances, requests and submissions, never evaluated me for HAMP refinance. Fast forward to now, Citi sold my mortgage to another servicer in December 2013 and they reviewed me for HAMP in March 2014, I started my 3 monthly payments in June finished in August and approved late October 2014. My problem is the 120+ late's since Jan. 2009 with the most recent being September and October of 2014 when I was under review immediately after the trial payments. I really feel what Citi did by keeping my home in foreclosure for 6 years without reviewing me for refinance was criminal but that's beside the point. I pulled my credit report and found a tax lien during the time Citi sold my mortgage but it has been released and I will file the correct paperwork to hopefully clear it from my report. For years, I haven't used credit other than making a car payment (24.99 APR) and I have 1- 30 day late (June 2014) due to a car accident and I wrote a goodwill letter (fingers crossed). Right now, including my mortgage, student loan and house payment my DTI ratio is 17%. My other negatives is 1 medical collection for $276 in 2013, C/O PLTF in 2011 for my second mortgage, a redeemed repossession in 2010, 3 lines of student loans that I got out of default in 2010. That's it! I did the shopping cart trick for 3 store credit lines (very low limits) and 2 Capital One cards (300 limit). I haven't received any of them and they are not on my credit report yet. But I took a lot of inquiry hits to get the credit cards (8). It seems that Capital One was the only to approve me. BOA, AMEX, BARCLAY's, and Chase all were denied. I hate taking on these new credit cards and hope it was the right decision. My finances are good so that's not a problem. I need business credit because my business (I'm self employed) needs to expand. My FICO scores are 533 TU, 534 EQ, and 599 EX. It's time I come out of my shell and deal with this. Please advise, I am desperate, Thanks!
  3. So here's my story: I was let go from my job in September 2014, where I had a corporate visa through citibank. I accepted another job a few days later, that required a move from GA to FL. Not realizing that citibank corporate cards, and citibank consumer cards were different business units, I thought I had done well when I updated my citibank consumer card and when they affirmed that it would updated all citibank accounts. In October 2014 I paid off what I thought was my remaining balance of $3800. I didn't received any correspondence or calls from citibank, and so I didn't think about them again. Fast forward to January 2015 Things have been going well in FL, and my wife and I decided to buy our first home. My mortgage broker told me I should enable credit monitoring atleast until the mortgage is finalized. This is when it all started. I received a credit monitoring alert on January 18th stating I had a new account, and a 90d late (!!!) I immediately log in and see that my old citibank corporate card is now a new tradeline in my credit report, and that it is showing as 90d late. I call citibank, and am told that I need to speak to a different group of folks that are only open weekdays (1-855-589-6912). I'm not entirely sure who this is, but I suspect it's collections. Having read a great deal on this forum on an old citibank thread from 2011, I call them up, and plead my case. Asking them to make a "goodwill adjustment" to make sure I can still close on my mortgage. The man I speak to seems pretty jaded, and says he doesn't know what that is, and that he can forward my account to a supervisor. I'm told to call back tomorrow. I have otherwise perfect credit, if a short history (I moved from the UK 5 years ago) so that one 90d late dropped my credit score by nearly 80 points (!!!) I know that in the old thread there was a list of citibank e-mail addresses. However, it's from 2011, and I'm thinking most are invalid now. Has anyone had any luck in a case similar to mine in getting a commitment on late removal? What is the best way to deal with this situation? Thanks CICers!
  4. Santander is reporting my date of last payment as 7/2014. THIS IS WHEN IT WAS SOLD TO A JUNK DEBT BUYER. My actual last payment to them was 4/2010. The JDB even says so on their paperwork. Isn't this re-aging?? I'm closing on a home loan this month.
  5. I am in the process of sending out my First Dispute Letter. How many items should I dispute at once where it won't be frivilous? If I don't get all my accounts on the First Dispute Letter, when do I send my second or third to dispute the rest? Thanks
  6. I pulled my credit report and saw that Verizon has placed that I owe them $395 from when I left them in April 2013. It was a surprise to me; I thought I had paid them in full. I can't find records of where I did pay them, so, perhaps I do owe the money. I haven't had a blemish on my credit for a long, long time. This is the only bad thing on my report in 7 years. I don't recall owing them this much; I believe it was $325 when I closed the account and I thought I paid it. Never the less, if I'm wrong ,and I did owe them and didn't pay it, I never got any notice of it before now! I haven't moved since I closed the account either, and my phone number hasn't changed. But I digress.... Here's the situation. I called Verzon because the report on all three reports say "verizon wireless" and the status says "In collections", but it doesn't say with who. Verizon told me that it is with CBE group. I did some reading on this website before I called verizon, so I had some idea of what I was trying to gather information wise. The representative in Verizon's "collections/disputes" department told me she could no longer see any details of the account, only that I had an account and that I owed $395. She could not see why I owed this amount, could not take any payments from me, could not send me any copies of statements and could not send me anything that would validate that I owe that amount. At this point, she said, they handed it off to CBE group, and that they would handle everything from here. I called CBE group, the number she gave me. CBE group looked up my name, my ssn and the account number Verizon gave me. They can not find me. They stated they have no account for me, they show no record of ever having an account for me. How do I remove this from my report, then? I forsee the following problem. If I dispute it through the CRA's, they contact verizon - as the account is listed on my report as Verizon wireless, not CBE group, and verizon "verifies" the debt. If I dispute with CBE, they will say they don't have any record, but when I send this to the CRA, the CRA's will say, well, that's fine but the debt is from Verizon, not CBE. If I send it to verizon, verizon will say talk to CBE. It also looks like the validation letters and process are not for the orginal creditor to validate, but for collection agencies only. I don't know what to do from here. HELP!?!
  7. Hey everyone, Long story short, last year I took on an auto loan through TD Auto Finance at an interest rate of 19%. My monthly payments on the car are around 300, which is easily manageable for me, and I have had no late or missed payments in the last year on the loan. I was contacted by the company I purchased the car through to let me know they can get me a lower interest rate if I refinance by purchasing a newer car. My current loan has around $10,000 left on it, and it's on a car that's currently worth about $5,000 - due to the extremely high interest rate. My main concern at this point is management all of my expenses and continuing to rebuilt my credit. I have periodically checked Equifax, and my score has slowly been going up since i've taken on the loan. I'm just looking for some advice on whether I should take on a new car loan, which would include carrying over the negative equity on my current loan after selling the current car - to take the lower interest rate (do higher monthly payments help build my rating faster?). The only issue is that the company has told me the bank won't approve less expensive cars, as they won't carry over the negative equity. With the cars that will "work" with TD Finance - i'd be looking at a monthly payment increase of over $200, which is insane. My question is, what is the best route from here? Should I just continue paying off my current loan at 19%? Even though most of the money is going directly to the bank, it appears to be helping me rebuild my credit. Is there any other solution here? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
  8. A brief background: My credit report and DMV record were in complete shambles for years due (in part) to my undiagnosed ADHD. I was diagnosed in 2011 and since then have not made as many poor decisions as I used to, I finally took care of all the Failure To Appear holds on my license and had it reinstated just last month. Now it's time to tackle my CR with the ultimate goal of preparing to buy a house. Luckily, many of my oldest and biggest debts have fallen off, but I have 8 collections still listed with various ages (6 of them are now past the 4 year California SOL). I'm going to try and follow the PRIMER in the Credit Repair forum, but I need some advise on how to proceed once it is time to start contacting the CAs. These are my questions and additional info: Based on the age (years since date of last activity), if I offer a settlement what should be the max percentage of the original debt?If I'm after PFD and the the SOL is expired, should I still offer a reduced settlement?Any other advice based on the info I'm providing below.Line 3 is not on my CR, but is on ChexSystem. I am willing to pay it off in full, but if the soon to expire SOL will help negotiate a lower payoff I'd rather go that route. All lines in red are now past the SOL.Current Experian PLUS Scores based on 3-in-1 report: EX - 582, EQ - 582, TU - 590 Prev Settlement Type of Debt Debt Age Original Debt Offer from CA1 Unsecured - Cellphone 2.08 $461.00 60%2 Unsecured - Cable 2.88 $523.00 80%3 Unsecured - Bank Account 3.22 $346.004 Unsecured - Credit Card 4.00 $460.00 90%5 Unsecured - Medical 5.14 $609.006 Unsecured - Medical 5.14 $1,311.007 Unsecured - Credit Card 5.53 $563.00 83%8 Unsecured - Cellphone 6.05 $945.00 25%9 Unsecured - Utility 6.46 $189.00 Thanks in advance for any help/advice.
  9. Im very curious on how to handle collections on this random account. Do i dispute it? Do I look into it? Does it even matter? Is it even mine? Could it be zombie debt? Here's the deal: While digging thru some old paperwork I came across a collections letter dated back in Sept 2013. Its a "deal" letter and says nothing but basically "here's what you owe us" and "pick your payment plan option.". The amount in collections is for about $1500 but I have NO IDEA what its from or what its for. Ive recently accessed all 3 of my credit reports and it is NOT listed anywhere. Not the creditor, the amount, nor the account number, I see NOTHING on my credit report about this account. The letter was sent from First National Collection Bureau and the statement is listed like this: Creditor: JEFFERSON CAPITAL SYSTEMS Original Creditor: FIRST BANK AND TRUST Original Account #: XXXXXXXX Ref #: XXXXXXXXX Total Due: $1489.95 Im assuming its been passed around to a few collection agencies BUT I still have no idea what it is and is not on my credit report anywhere. And i dont recall any other debt other than what is listed on my credit report. Maybe some cable bills or phone bills from wayyy back but i'll never see those again. The only charged off credit card accounts that I have on my report are far lower amounts than that and the only other collections account that even gets close to that number is something that is listed with an entirely different collection agency. (old gym membership, out of SOL. forgot about that whole 2 year contract thing when i cancelled and went to a different gym.) Anyway, I havent received any mail regarding that account since then. However this collection agency First National Collection Bureau does have another charge off account of mine. (Something for far less amount with an expired SOL so they may get a FOAD letter for that one sometime soon if they keep sending me stuff about it.) So on this $1500 collections account, does it even matter if its NOT on my credit report? Do I need to look into it? Should I dispute it? Should I just let it sit? I literally have no idea what it could be and I see nothing on my CR. I mean, I dont plan on stirring the pot unless they send me something else but this CA has another account of mine so maybe they mixed up? who knows. Or could it be zombie debt that has just been passed around so long and built up so much interest and fees that its so far inflated from the original amount? Since its not on any of my credit reports should I just send them a FOAD letter? Thanks in advance for any helpful tips or info. These forums are a wealth of knowledge.
  10. Hello, I am in need of some serious help. I have never checked my credit report in my entire life until two days ago when a collection agency called me and informed me that i had student loans in my name. *this is sadly a case of family fraud but i did attend school so I'm dealing with that, it only prompted me to check my credit report to see what else may have happened. I did credit karma (transition) and to be safe got the experian report as well. I am going through all this information still as it has been pretty overwhelming but have noticed a few pretty serious concerns already. First big issue: on the experian report under my personal information it says "also known as" and it is not my name, possible typo on someone end at the original creditor or during the transfer of information I have an account in collections with the improper name on my report. EOS CCA filed collection account for AT&T mobility for $900 You have to have the correct information to even have an account started in your name so Im not sure what to do. second: Multiple accounts in collections that are not mine: AFNI is reporting $297 for SPRINT as well as TRIDENT ASSET MANAGEMENT and NATIONAL RECOVERY reporting columbia house dvd $58 for different dates one in 2009 the other in 2010 and i have never had a columbia house dvd membership of any kind. I have two different agencies SW CRDT SYS and STELLAR REC reporting COMCAST debts for three different amounts and three different dates for consecutive months in a row. but each time that i have used the company i have closed out the accounts and paid them off to a 0 balance. SWIFT FNDS reporting a golds gym membership from 2009 for $202. third: FBCS is reporting EMCARE CENTER EMERGENCY PHYS $528 and I cannot find this company anywhere on the internet to get information to even have an idea of what this might be, ALLIED COLLECTION has two different accounts in collections for RADIOLOGY ASSOCIATES with multiple amounts: one has an original balance of $68 then current balance of $72 opened 10/25/10, the other report is an amount of $40 opened 4/1/2009 on top of that RADIOLOGY ASSOCIATES with the listed address on the report is no longer in business. I have no idea where or what these could be; does anyone else know? Lastly: AARGON AGNCY reporting $12,870 on behalf of RMI Management LLC. the original date opened is not provided but it does have the "last updated" date as 11/1/2008. I don't even know what to say about this one. Is this past the SOL since it is from 2008? Also, I believe that these would be racked up fees of some kind because I definitely did not borrow or get $12,870 worth of goods or services in any way shape or form. To make matters worse, when I asked the woman that called about the student loans where all the documents and notices had been sent as i have never one time received anything about these debts she told me that it was all being sent to an address in california that i have not lived at since 2004/2005. i have been constantly moving from one place to another and only now when i finally settled down and moved in with my fiancé do i have an actually address. I am really freaking out because we are about to get married and this bomb just exploded a few days ago. Clearly, I really need some freaking help. I do not know what to do at all and all of this is new to me and I just don't know where to start. I have been doing a ton of reading to become a little more knowledgable about credit and this whole process the past few days but I am just overwhelmed and do not know where to start. I was going to dispute the accounts that are obviously not mine as well as the ones that are out of business and the other ATT that is not in my name. HELP!!!!!!!!
  11. I'm looking to get a home and my credit score is 671 I just got my credit reports from all 3 companies by mail I don't owe too much Comcast, a couple red light camera fines, and sprint those are my collections I want to send debt validation letters out but on my credit reports it has the info of the collector's company and address but the account # is only shown partially should I call the CA and get my full account #?
  12. I have a question & I apologize in advance if it has already been addressed but I can't find it. I disputed information on my credit report TO THE CREDITOR as being inaccurate by certified mail return receipt requested. My understanding is that they have 30 days to answer my dispute. The 30 days came and passed with no answer. I sent copies of the letter, mail receipts etc to the CREDIT BUREAU. The Credit bureau answered me saying that they did an investigation and that there was updated information on my credit report. Nothing really changed. I was under the impression that Federal law stated that if the Creditor does not answer within the 30 day period, that the Credit bureau must remove the information. Am I wrong on this point? Thanks
  13. Five years ago I lost my job and had to fight my company over three months for unemployment benefits. I fell behind on my rent and was evicted from my apartment. I should have paid what I owed when my unemployment was approved however; I was irresponsible and chose not to. It did not matter to me at the time but fast forward 5 years and I now have a family and am experiencing firsthand how important credit really is. The past due debt (3k) was reported to the CRA’s in 10/2009-Should I wait another two years and let this fall off my cbr or would it be worth it to pay it off now? Help!
  14. So I defaulted on a student loan years ago. It's listed on my CR about a few times, as AES/NCT, CItizen's Bank, etc. I settled with agency (Richard Boudreau) for half the amount as they agreed to post it as Paid in Full and I really wanted to get this in my rear-view. They sent me a letter saying that they would report it to the owner so I sent the cashier's check certified mail. However, this was over a month ago and I have yet to see a change in my CR. I also have not received the paid letter from the collector as I was promised. Any advice as to what I should do? I am really ignorant to all of this stuff. Also, any idea how to get the multiple negative tradelines removed? I removed the account numbers but they were the same on each listing. It looks like I have a handful of negatives on there. They're listed like this: Closed Accounts AES/NCT Account Type: Installment Account Number: (OMITTED) Payment Responsibility: Individual Date Opened: 11/2004 Balance Date: 11/2006 Balance Amount: $0 Monthly Payment: High/Limit: $9,392 Account Status: Late Over 120 Days Past Due Amount: $0 Comments: TRANSFERRED TO RECOVERY LAST REPORTED DELINQUENCIES: 10/2006=I5,09/2006=I5,08/2006=I5 _______________________________________________________________________________________ CHARTER ONE BANK, FSB Account Type: Installment Account Number: (OMITTED) Payment Responsibility: Undesignated Date Opened: 08/2007 Balance Date: 03/2009 Balance Amount: Monthly Payment: $0 High/Limit: Account Status: Collection Past Due Amount: $0 Comments: COLLECTION ACCOUNT CONTACT MEMBER FOR STATUS STUDENT LOAN ____________________________________________________________________________________________ NATIONAL COLLEGIATE TRUST Account Type: Installment Installment Installment Account Number: (OMITTED) (OMITTED) (OMITTED) Payment Responsibility: Individual Individual Individual Date Opened: 07/2007 07/2007 07/2007 Balance Date: 12/2008 12/2008 12/2008 Balance Amount: $0 $0 Monthly Payment: High/Limit: $10,711 $10,711 $10,711 Account Status: Collection Late Over 120 Days Late Over 120 Days Past Due Amount: $0 $0 $0 Comments: LAST REPORTED DELINQUENCIES: 11/2008=I5,10/2008=I5,09/2008=I5 TRANSFERRED TO RECOVERY CLAIM FILED WITH GOVERNMENT TRANSFERRED TO RECOVERY LAST REPORTED DELINQUENCIES: 11/2008=I5,10/2008=I5,09/2008=I5 ACCOUNT DELINQUENT 180 DAYS PAST DUE DATE CLAIM FILED BY WITH GOVERNMENT FOR INSURED PORTION OF BALANCE ON LOAN LAST REPORTED DELINQUENCIES: 12/2008=I ,11/2008=I TRANSFERRED TO RECOVERY LAST PAID: 12/2008 Also, which is the date that it will be deleted 7 years after? 15. I sent a DV to a CA reporting a medical bill. This is an ER bill back in 2010 that was supposed to be charged off by the hospital to their charity care. I was unemployed and uninsured at that time. I disputed with CRA and came back verified. Today, I received letters in the mail from the CA. Letter #1: - Addressed to me and my ex-husband to my address since 2008. - Ex-husband has never lived at this address. The divorce was finalized in 2009. - The Amount due is $400 more than the amount due on the CR. - Basically just says they received the dispute from a CRA and advised that the info is valid and will remain unchanged. Letter #2 - Response to my DV. - attached is an itemized bill of EVERYTHING that was done in the emergency room. Including type of ultrasound done, drugs administered and laboratory tests done. - It also indicates "Self Pay Adjustment" that I never actually paid. - It reflects the balance/amount due as the same amount reported on CR. I sent a CMRR letter to the hospital too but have yet to receive a response from them. I basically told them that this is a billing error and should have been charged to their charity care and provided unemployment records to support my claim. Is there a HIPAA violation here? What steps should I take next? Thank you for all the help.
  16. Of the many reasons people are wary of filing for bankruptcy, one of the biggest is the affect is has on a person’s credit score. It stands to reason that creditors aren’t exactly excited at the prospect of lending to an individual who has recently filed for bankruptcy. In a way this is a good thing. It prevents many people who are just looking for an easy way out of debt from filing for bankruptcy. For those who have exhausted all of their other options however, and bankruptcy is a last resort, the idea of starting over with a poor credit score is pretty frightening. Rather than putting off bankruptcy however, take comfort in knowing that your credit score can recover after bankruptcy, and there is a lot you can do immediately after bankruptcy to speed that process up. Apply for credit A common mistake many of the recently bankrupt make is assuming that they can’t get any credit right away. Actually, you can apply and be approved for credit the same day your bankruptcy is finalized. In order to start rebuilding your credit, that’s exactly where you’ll want to start. Your credit score improves as you demonstrate that you can wisely use your credit. To do that, you need to have credit in the first place. When applying for a line of credit, you can expect to have a difficult time. You may get turned down a lot before you finally find a creditor willing to work with you. Because of your recent bankruptcy, your line of credit will be pretty small, maybe a few hundred dollars, and the interest rate will be pretty high. You may even have to settle for a secured credit card in which your credit limit is only as high as the deposit you put up for collateral. Use it wisely Now that you have credit, you need to prove you can use it wisely. Even though your new line of credit may seem pathetic, it will work great for your purposes. A common misconception about building credit is that you need to use your card a lot or carry a balance. The opposite is actually true. If the balance is frequently near the limit, it tells creditors you rely on credit too much. The best way to use your new line of credit is to use it often, but for small purchases. Then make sure to pay it off in full by the end of the billing cycle. As you demonstrate you can use credit responsibly, you’ll see your credit score recovering much faster after bankruptcy. 17. More good news! Transunion has concluded their investigation of my dispute. Only 4 bad tradelines remain on my credit file. YAY! What now? I know I can re-dispute the tradeline for a CA because have incorrect last 4 digit of SSN. But the OC is still reporting this tradeline. What are my chances of getting both removed with the information CA gave me? Another CA has a medical bill that I DV'd them on but have yet to receive anything. I sent the hospital a letter too. I am considering writing to the president/chairman of the hospital's board regarding my case. Is this a good idea? The last tradeline on my credit is from CA that I sent a refuse to pay letter to because it's SOL. So I just have to live with that until it drops off next year. By the way, what is "NEW INFORMATION" category as a result of their investigation? Thanks!
  18. Hello, Midland sued me in court and they LOST. They were obviously not original creditor and I was disputing amount. NOW they are reporting, at least monthly, amounts that are 4x what they were suing me for in court! This can't be right. What are the steps to get them off my report? I am assuming I need to start with going to court house and getting copy of court ruling. Thanks for helping me streamline the process, do it right the first time, and get these mofos off my back once and for all.
  19. Hello all! Newbie here! Just beginning my credit repair journey. This is literally day 1. I have read most of the newbie posts and spent a lot of time reading some of the posts. However, I didn't see a clear answer to the letters subject. I have about 22-23 negative items on my credit reports from experian and transunion. I just requested credit reports from all 3 CRA'S yesterday because I recently got denied for credit and the 2 I have now are from June of this year. So I'm waiting on the recent ones to come in the mail. My question is, because I have so many negative items, what's the best way to go about grouping the letters? I saw a post that said 3-4 letters per month? Is that correct? I think it would be over doing it to send all 22-23 negative items in one letter to experian, then transunion, etc. So should I do one letter for each negative item and only do 3-4 per month to each CRA? Or should I do a group of 3-4 items in one letter to each CRA? I'm not exactly sure how often and how many? Then I was also confused because in one of the newbie posts it said we can call the CRA. I think i'm more comfortable with letters but I just wanted to know the best way to go about that. As far as grouping or timing between letters. Thanks so much for the help! And I apologize if this has already been addressed. I tried searching and couldn't find the answer.
  20. I recently sent a dispute letter to Trans union for a water bill collection account and a 30 day late payment to Macy's. My son has the same name as mine but he's a Jr. who rents my basement apt. so we share the same property address and the water bill belongs to him. I explained this the Trans union supplied the proof. I mailed the letter out on July 18th 2013 by certified mail(signed cert. return card dated July 22 ) and did not get a response back until Sept. 13th!! Nothing was removed and I requested that they removed all the items that I disputed due to the fact that they took over 30 days but they keep stating that it was verified by the OC and that I need to contact them directly, can someone please give me some advice?
  21. So after being denied for a BoA secured credit card I figured it was time to start repairing my credit. I've started my credit repair process and am looking for a little direction. I lost my job a few years ago and my credit went in the toilet. I was able to find work immediately after, but the hours and pay were reduced. I'm finally in a position where I can start fixing things. The first thing I did was order and triage hard copies of my credit reports. I have 10-13 negatives on each. Some of those are late pays on student loans, 1 is 3 different late pay on a car loan I'm currently paying on. The first thing I did was opt out and delete old addresses. EQ and TU deleted no problem. EX I was only able to get 1 old address deleted. The next thing I did was was dispute all negatives as not mine. I shook out 2 deletions from TU and EX on this and one deletion from EQ. One of the collections was only verified on EQ, but deleted on TU and EX. I have the following left and need some help with my plan of action.(please note that the amounts are changed and company names omitted for persec reasons): 1. A repo from 2010 for 9 grand. This was sold from the original lender to a new lender(not a CA) after the repo. My plan is to send why chat's repo letter with this. I am also 75% sure I never got any of the required documentation in the mail. I've never heard anything from anyone about this, no calls, no letters, I checked the courts and no suit was filed. Is it critical that I send a copy of the why chat letter to the dealer? The dealer I bought the car from is out of business. 2. A personal loan. It is for 2 grand. It was secured with a car I owned outright. They currently report the loan as having been unsecured, but that is not accurate. They repo'd the car when I defaulted. I had a CA send me a letter which I immediate DV'd, and haven't heard anything about it since. This was 2 months ago. I never received any sale notices or anything. Would I treat this the same as a normal repo? 3. A credit card charged off at 600 bucks in 2010. This is reporting as sold to porfolio recovery. They've called multiple times, my phone and my mother in law's phone - but no messages. I got to answer one time and referred them to my attorney as I was instructed to do. They haven't sent me anything in the mail yet and are not reporting. 4. A collection for a lease I had to break when I lost my job. It is 2600 dollars. 5. A collection for some school debt. This is for 2300 dollars. 6. A collection for a phone bill. This was the one that was deleted off of TU and EX, but verified on EQ. 7. 4 separate student loan trade lines from the same company reporting 90 days late. This was due to me not getting the forbearance in time. 8. 2 separate student loan trade lines from the same company reporting 1 90 day late each. The late is from the same reason as above. 9. 3 30 day late payments on my current car loan. I am also currently suing a collection agency for 3rd party disclosure, and violation of various state statutes. They are not currently reporting on my CR. The statute of limitations in my state is 6 years. My plan is to DV the remaining collections and then re-dispute as soon as the green card comes back. I'm going to use why chat's letter for the repo. I was going to 623 the OC's, can I do the same 1-2 punch on these as I do the CA's? I'm not too terribly certain I'm following the right path so any advice would be appreciated.
  22. Hi, I want to hire a credit repair company to repair my credit score. I am in arizona (US). I have found one comapny name ... in arizona . can anyone let me know its reputation. their website is Thanks
  23. I was 60 days late on my auto loan and this caused my credit report to plunge big time. I have paid on the account and got it up to current status but my question is this: Will this remain on my credit report for up to 7 years? Even though I am caught up on these bills is this going to remain as a negative factor on my credit report and is there anything I can do to have it removed? About a year ago I hired Lexington Law to remove items on my credit report and my experience is that it is nearly impossible to remove items that are negative when they involve financial lending such as a bank loan or credit card. Is there anything I can do? I would like to think that by next month I can just refresh my credit report and it will show my status as current and this will be behind me but I seriously doubt that's the case. I'm pretty sure I'll be stuck with this for another 7 years so I really hope I have some options here.
  24. So I've been doing a lot of reading and reviewing what others have done. I'd like to make sure I'm following along the right path. Story: Lots of old CC debt. SOL on everything expires starting in Feb 2014. However SOL has "technically" expired in WI about 3 years ago as we borrow the shorter SOL. Deleware has a 3 year SOL, so any DE cards have technically gone beyond the SOL. This is up for some debate, but I'm willing to fight that battle if need be. Two months back I decided to get aggressive about credit repair instead of simply sitting back. I had about 4-5 disputes go out to the CRA's and my wife had a few more. We've since gotten responses on all the CRA stuff. I then followed up with two of my wife accounts, one with AA and another with Chase. AA: They responded to my validation request with general information and a refusal to remove the negative mark on my CR's. They did not provide any proof that they owned the debt or really anything else...they only provided a blurb saying it was valid and that they were reporting properly. Question: Is my next step another letter demanding the proof that they own the debt, or at least some evidence that its a real debt. OR, is my next step an ITS letter followed up by a suit? I'm sure I could do either, so looking for a little experience from others here. I'd prefer to avoid the costs of a suit, but am willing to do it if I have to. Chase: They are the OC. I have sent them a 623 investigation letter. They already filed a 1099c on the debt, plus it is beyond the SOL. They have another week or so to respond. Question: As everyone has fought me every step of the way, I anticipate they will fight me too. Which means they will respond with a refusal to correct my CR's. Is my next step an ITS letter, or just go right into the suit. In this case I actually suspect a letter to their legal dept. might get traction as I've heard their lawyers know they should be reporting a zero balance once they have filed a 1099c. I have other stuff out there, but these two are the most pressing as AA is killing my wife's credit report. Any thoughts/experiences would be appreciated. Especially if you've had to go all the way with some of the OC's/Collectors.
  25. Greetings to all the wise ones!! I have spent the last 24hrs reading every nook and corner of this forum to find answers to my specific problem to no avail! Please help me out so I can achieve my dream!! I am in process of buying my first home, when I went for my pre-approval the mortgage specialist(MS) ran my credit and picked my median score of 660 to grant me the pre-approval letter. My 3 scores were 654/660/679, That was back in April. Fast fwd 3 months and I finally found a house that fits my budget, the paperwork went to underwriting(UW) and I found out I got denied, because my median score dropped to 634!? My new scores are 629/634/670, I have to be at 640 to get approved for the mortgage. I immediately went through all 3 reports and NOTHING has changed since then, everything looks EXACTLY the same as April report, I am baffled as to what happened and why the score dropped?. My credit-card balances are below 10% on ALL credit cards as of today, back in April they were about 15%, all payments have been on time and never late! I had one collection account that is scheduled to fall off next year, it was on my report then and is still on now, so what gives? My mortgage broker wants to know if I want to re-run the credit and I told him to give me couple of days till I figure it out. Anywho, so i did some reading and learnt that if you dispute negative items on your report it temporarily boosts your score. SO I used common sense and only disputed 2 of 3 reports (the 629 and 634), my question is this......How long should I wait before giving the UW green light to go ahead and re-run my credit so they could see the boosted score? Is there absolutely ANYTHING I can do to get a 6 points boost in 24hrs? Any/All suggestions are most welcome, I appreciate all your help, Thanks a million. Regards, John
