  1. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Today I was informed that although I was set to be hired for what could be called my "dream job", because of items uncovered during the credit and background check, they will not be able to hire me. These items include a pending foreclosure, a few charge-offs, and about a dozen other negative items. Since ive been working on a 100% commission basis and the new job is for a nice salary, Im completely at a loss with what to do about my employement situation. I cant get this job because I didnt make enough to at my last job to pay everything on time. It seems like a vicious circle that has my future career doomed.
  2. I thought HIPPA stated that unpaid/delinquent Medical Bills couldn't be posted on your credit report - is this true - any info would be helpful. If this is true how do I get them taken off? I was in an accident 2 yrs ago and now I am permanently disabled any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks to All
  3. I recently pulled my credit from all 3 reportin agencies to review and I noticed that a collection agency and a law firm that I am currently disputing with viewed my credit without my permission or knowledge. Is that legal?
  4. I have several collection letters from CA's but they are not showing up on my Credit reports? What should I do with them.
  5. A new collection account has recently appeared on my TC (shows on all 3)report as you have probably seen me complain about in other posts.. Today I was investigating the report again, and realized that I overlooked this statement listed in the Trans Union Remarks Section: [TransUnion] Account information disputed by consumer, meets FCRA requirments. LOL.. What does that mean? How do they know they meet the FCRA requirments? That is not 100% true anyway, because they did not provide me with the correct information.. Should I be at all concerned with this?
  6. Hi! This is my first post, but I have been researching on this site for some time now. A divorce really knocked me for a financial loop, so I am playing cleanup/catchup. A CA is calling me at home (first at work, then I told them to knock it off) wanting to resolve a 4 yr old debt. It's a credit card. And basically, I used to live in TX, and the SOL is 4 yrs there (where the debt incurred). Now, I live in MS, and the SOL is 3 years. I know the CA can choose where to sue me, if it comes to that. So, I figured, worst-case scenario, it's a 4 year SOL. Problem is, my credit reports I obtained at the first of this year indicate a DLA differently. One says it expired in 3/07, one says 12/07 and the other isn't due to expire until after the first months of '08. Can I just pick the one that is in my favor (I think it's Equifax)? Or should I wait for all of them to expire? They are threatening legal, or at least they did the first time around (that was 3 mos ago), and that guy was rude. Now, this collector is nice, but will not provide me with exact figures as to how they arrived at the amount they say I owe (same stupid 1 sheet letter everytime). Do I hit them with a cease and desist, citing the SOL in my favor? Or do I ask for a DV first? Thanks in advance!!!!
  7. I have 2 collection agencies that are reporting the "Date open" as the wrong date. I'm guessing maybe this is the date they started to want to sink thier teeth. Legally do they have to show the date of the original collector? One is from RJM. The other question I have is about duplicate showings. Like if XYZ creditor extends me credit, I default and ABC Collection Agency takes it do both of them stay on the report? Next, do all of the creditors have to have the same information? RJM is showing 3 different amounts of which I still can't figure out what it was on all three different reports. Next, I paid off my car in settlement mid year last year for just a little less than the full price. It still comes and reports every month like I'm 30 days late and I'm not 30 days late - the thing is paid!!! Lastly, do the creditors have to legally show a collection agency name? The other one of these rascals simply states "Collection" in the Account name section. Whewwww!!! That was a lot and I totally appreciate any response! Thanks for your help!

  9. 1.Incorrect information. Even small problems can cause your credit report to be confused with the report of another person. 2.Outdated information. Perhaps you have married, divorced, or changed your name. Perhaps you have changed your phone number or switched jobs. If your credit report shows outdated information, you should update it. 3. Missing employers. Lenders often look to an employment history as evidence of stability. 4. Accounts you never opened. They may be the result of ID theft or confusion with the credit report of another person. 5. Accounts you never opened. They may be the result of ID theft or confusion with the credit report of another person. 6. Accounts you never opened. They may be the result of ID theft or confusion with the credit report of another person. 7. Accounts for spouses or ex-spouses that you did not cosign. These are not your accounts so they shouldn't appear on your report. 8. Incorrect balances or credit limits. 9. Accounts that are closed and paid off but are not indicated as so. 10. Missing accounts. Accounts cosigned with a spouse should appear on your report. You may also want to add a bank checking or savings account especially if you are trying to establish a credit history. 11. Inquiries for lenders where you haven’t applied for credit. 12. Adverse public records are legal records reported on you, usually by a court of law and include bankruptcies, foreclosures, garnishments, and tax liens. These can severely hurt your FICO score, so make sure anything listed here is accurate 13. Debt collections on accounts you never opened. 14. Debt collections on a debt you believe you aren’t obligated to repay or were never late in repaying. 15. Debt collections that are listed twice. 16. Debt collections for an account which is also in the Accounts list above and has a status of "Collection". This is the equivalent of a Debt collection that is listed twice. GOOD LUCK!
  10. Do I send a letter to the creditor I paid or do I take it up with the Credit bureaus? Can this be done after I have paid? Also, what letter would I send them?
  11. What's the most accurate site to use to monitor the three reports and the fico scores on a daily basis? I'm trying to find something that's not too pricey either. What does everyone else use and like?
  12. Hello, this is my first post (I'm sure it will be obvious !!) I haven't a clue if I'm doing this correctly:? Anyway I was wondering if anyone knows anything about putting a personal statement on your credit report explaining derogatory information and why it is on your report in the first place. I have tried to update and remove a couple of entries but I'm still waiting. I thought I read some where that it could help to explain your situation to a possible creditor and that it could make a differeence of a "yes or no".For example a tax lien..........it's paid but only showing paid and released on Experian. TU and Equifax still list it as out standing and total due is 22000.00 Sorry if I created any confusion.... thanks much clutttergirl
  13. I have two questions: 1) Over the past 6 months I have been disputing/going through validation/sending follow ups/etc. to the CRA's and OC's. I have been somewhat successful in having many things deleted. Although I seem to get a copy of my credit report every other day and in most cases it is unchanged and a duplicate of the previous one I have received. It states they have investigated things already or doesnt say anything... Is this normal? 2) TU removed almost everything, EQ removed apprx. 50% of negatives so far, but Exp. barely removed a thing, and now keeps sending notice that "they already verified the info and I need to contact the OC's" This after I did just that and they did not respond in the 30 day time frame. Is this common, and can I point reference to Exp about the fact that the other CRA's removed items they are verifying? Or do they care about that? Thanks everyone for all the great info!!!
  14. Hello I had an over draft on an account years ago, but I have paid it off. On my credit report the bank has it recorded as payed off, but it showes up in my public record section where they filed claim for the unpaid amount. I never went to court or got any notice to inform me to go to court. My question is since I paid the balance off and never went to court is there any way I can have it removed from my credit report? P.S. I am new to this, so help me out.
  15. I sent a PFD to the CA (Gerald E. Moore & Associates) that is handling my Direct Merchants account which was charged off about 2 months ago. However, I've checked my credit report and the collection agency isn't shown, although my credit report does show that the account has been charged off. Can the CA change what the OC is reporting? Shouldn't I just pay the CA with a letter stipulating that the acct is paid and that the CA won't come after me for any more money???
  16. I am getting most of the negative items off of my credit report because of everything I have learned from this site. Yeah!!! I have a bankruptcy that will be 10 yrs old and will come off in a little over a year. I was wondering how exactly to remove this earlier if possible. I have seen various viewpoints on this subject. Some saying it can and cant be done. Being I know it is more difficult to remove than regular negatives, I want to get the correct info to do it right. Anyone who knows exactly how to go about it would be great. Thanks in advance!
  17. Does anyone know what information should show on credit report for accounts discharged under a chapter 13?
  18. I'm sorry if it will sound as a silly question but I really need your help. I'm fixing credit score for my husband and I have requested credit reports from TransUnion and Equifax. No problem with that. I know that once my husband accidently checked his Experian report online but didnt save it or did anything (free credit report wasted for nothing). I'm trying to get it send to us again by mail. Ok, so I filled mailing request form (from www.annualcreditreport.com), attached his ID, copy of the insurance statement and the check. And I just got this formal/standard letter yesterday saying that there was some information lacking or so. No credit report Was the form that I filled out incorrect? Shall I just send them a check and write down that I want credit report? Where should I refer to request a credit report - I dont mind paying for it but I dont want signing for anything online yet. Does it make sence? Any ideas? Thank you for helping me out.
  19. I've been doing some research here on UCB because I am getting ready to dv them on a citi account & then yesterday I recieved a dunning letter from them about another citi account. My credit report says charge off sent to collections. If I am correct that means citi still owns it, right? Sorry but I still get confused sometimes. Should I try to contact citi, I haven't spoken to them in months? One old post on here said to ignore UCB & try that. UCB left me a message the other day mentioning 2 accounts before I knew about the new one. These are $6800 & $9700 ones so I want to make sure I do the right thing here. Some people say not to dv to avoid being sued by citi. I have to contact UCB one way or the other. They are calling my home, cell & I have now recieved 3 text messages, my cell phone does not have a page option so they are texts. They have also called before 8 am so I have some violations on them which I think I am going to mention in the letter. So I guess my real question is who do I really owe & what is my best course of action? I do not have money to settle these yet and I am still trying to kill time until I can do a BK. Thanks
  20. I know I've already sent this, however I'm sending it again in case someone needs to read it in order to understand my next question. How can it be that on my CR this Juniper Bank cc is a charge-off and I received this? Read below: I live in Florida and received a letter from the Law Offices of Noam J. Cohen, P.A. Their address shows Miami, FLA. and their website is www.FLORIDACOLLECTIONS.NET, they are admitted in FL, N.Y. AND N.J. I am giving you all this info. in hopes of making it easier for someone to give me a response. PLEAZZZZZ! It is for a debt on my Juniper CC of $1,736.80. They state: RE: LHR, INC. as successor in interest to JUNIPER BANK Our law firm has been retained by LHR, INC., in the above-referenced matter to collect the outstanding balance of $1,736.80 with respect to this delinquent account. Please forward your check to this office. Said check should be made payable to Noam J. Cohen, P.A. Trust Account and the above-referenced file number should be inserted on the lower left hand corner of the check. We hope that this matter can be resolved promptly and amicably. SHOULD THIS MATTER FAIL TO BE RESOLVED WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS FROM THE DATE OF THIS LETTER, OUR CLIENT HAS AUTHORIZED US TO FILE SUIT WHEREIN YOU WILL ADDITIONALLY BE LIABLE FOR OUR COURT COSTS. WE WILL THEN PROCEED VIGOROUSLY TOWARDS OBTAINING A JUDGMENT AND WILL EMPLOY ALL LEGAL METHODS AT OUR DISPOSAL TO COLLECT THIS OUTSTANDING DEBT. PLEASE GOVERN YOURSELF ACCORDINGLY! Can they still sue me even though Juniper Bank made it a charge-off on my Creidt report and transfered/sold this account to LHR who in turn contacted Noam's office (attorney)? I'm confused!
  21. I got my credit reports from Experian and TransUnion ( I have to send in a written request for the Equifax one for some reason...). There are several things on here that I don't understand! I have an auto loan through Drive Financial and it shows they do an inquiry every single month since the time I got the loan - is that normal? Also, a couple of the CA have made inquiries. I had no idea they could just check your credit without you even knowing. Almost all of them have a 'last reported' date of within the last few months. Does that affect anything?
  22. They always X out the last four digits. As these are collection accounts that I've never seen before, I have no idea how to reference them in my dispute letter. Should those X's be there? (I got an Equifax 3-in-1 credit report.) What should I do? Thanks!
  23. I Checked My Credit Report And I Have 4 Credit Card Acounts THAT READ AS "CLOSED LOST OR STOLEN CARD" From Two Different Creditors On My Credit Report. They Are Reported As Closed And I Did Infact Report Them As Lost About Two Years Ago. And The Original Debt Which Has Been Charged Off And Sent To Collections Is On There As Well. Its Also Adding On To The # Of Accounts And To The Amount Of Debt Owed. What Can I Do About This? Or Are They Sopossed To Be On There?
  24. Hello, Here is the deal. I followed suggestions found on your site and was able to refi my home and pay off all liens and credit card debits! On top of that, I was able to settle for far less than they wanted and saved a LOT of money! Also, I consolidated my second mortgage in with my refi and actually came out to $300.00 less PER MONTH than I had been paying for the two mortgages alone and that INCLUDES all the other bad debit too, and there were a TON of them! Here is my problem. That all took a LOT of time on the phone dealing with collection agencies and their attorneys too. Two weeks of making that my full time job. Well, my REAL full time job will not allow me to put that kind of time out again to now try to get my credit reports to look as good as they can. Everything is PAID, but I don't have the time to work on the three credit agencies, or the time to learn the best way to go about it. SO, I was hoping to find out if anyone on here had any luck with any HONEST credit repair companies??? If so, please let me know. Thanks a good luck to all!
  25. How do I remove or repair my credit? How do I clean my credit? What is the best advice? I have close to 12,000.00 on my report.
