  1. I am a victim of identity theft, and had filed a report with local police, also the FTC. I requested Experian block a fraudulent account, and provided them with copies of the identity theft reports to support the request. They removed the fraudulent account within a few days of doing this. I had disputed the same fraudulent account with Equifax, and attached identity theft reports as supporting documentation. For 3 weeks after Experian blocked the account, the date reported on this same account was updated 4 times on Equifax. 11/11/2016 I requested Experian remove the fraudulent ac
  2. Excellent article on how to raise your credit score, and the major components affecting your score. How to Raise Your Credit Score, Fast http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-05-10/how-to-raise-your-credit-score-fast
  3. Creditors haven't responded to debt validation letter, but CB says debt is accurate I've twice written Calvarly Portfolio Services and Portfolio Recovery (two separate debts), asking for a debt validation. It's been 60 days since the first letter went out and 30 days since the 2nd. I did not receive a response to either letter. I disputed the debts, noting that the creditors did not respond to my request for validation. The credit bureaus came back and said their investigation revealed the debts are accurate. Dealing with another creditor, I was able to get it completely de
  4. Hi, I disputed an entry on my credit reports approximately four years ago and the credit bureaus all removed the entry. After ordering my updated reports this week, I see that one of the credit bureaus added a new creditor's account to my report, shown in a delinquent status. I had never heard of the party, so I looked them up online. It looks like either the party I first disputed had a name change, or they were acquired by this new party. It's hard to be 100% certain thus far, but public corporate records on file with my state show a simple name change. My question pertains to to the Fai
  5. I have a question & I apologize in advance if it has already been addressed but I can't find it. I disputed information on my credit report TO THE CREDITOR as being inaccurate by certified mail return receipt requested. My understanding is that they have 30 days to answer my dispute. The 30 days came and passed with no answer. I sent copies of the letter, mail receipts etc to the CREDIT BUREAU. The Credit bureau answered me saying that they did an investigation and that there was updated information on my credit report. Nothing really changed. I was under the impression that Federal law s
  6. Hi, I'm been doing a little reading on this but I'm still unsure as to how to go about this, so I'm hoping someone here can help me. A few months ago, I pulled up my credit report and realized there were two entries on it from a certain telephone company. I disputed the entries with all three credit bureaus; they all came back verified. I then called the telephone company, and was told that these accounts were 'at a zero balance' and that they did not have any original records on them. I did get the representative's name, customer ID, and date/time of call (I take good notes! lol), so he
  7. Anyone have any idea how to dispute on Experian without buying a report? I just need to have it updated because a judgment was satisfied. I don't want to pay another 15 for this. With Transunion and Equifax I know how but can't figure this out. I know in the past I found a link to be able to do it, but can't figure it out now. Any help?
  8. Hi, I am disputing a medical collection on my credit reports. While I am disputing with the original creditor because of billing errors, I am also questioning how this is posted to my credit reports, and how the information may potentially be shared with others. My TransUnion report shows the collection listing in this fashion - Original Creditor: Med 1 02 - and then shows the medical provider's name and the type of physician. I am under the impression that the code Med 1 02 puts a privacy block on the information that follows per HIPAA regulations. Can anyone confirm this? The same list
