  1. Hi Everyone, Not sure the best place to post this, but thought I'd try here first. We cosigned for our daughter many years ago on student loans. Now, our adult daughter is apparently having trouble paying her loan. (Sallie Mae aka Navient). About a year and half ago, we retired to Florida and were unaware that our daughter was having so much trouble making payments. We only discovered that she went 60 days late on her payments when we took a 77 point hit on our credit score. Apparently, the demand payments ended up going to our son's PO box (Jr. vs Sr.) and he never bothered to tell us. Now, after all these years of working hard, our credit score makes us look like we are a risk and at our age, we don't have a lot of time to wait for this to drop off. Does anyone know if there is anyway to work with Sallie Mae or Navient to have these derogatory items removed from our credit report? We are so upset about this that we are looking at ways of paying this off ourselves in order to avoid this ever happening to us again. Any advice would be most appreciated.
