  1. Confused on how to proceed. SOL expires before 2nd pre-trial. Being sued for an old medical debt from June 2013. At the 1st pre-trial conference they provided me with all the correct validation: Charges inquiry, Signed treatment agreement and assignment of debt. Told me to verify it for accuracy and they would schedule a 2nd pre-trial. Principle balance is $2009 plus interest and court costs the total is $3550. They offered to let me settle the debt by just paying the principle balance and waive all other costs. Is that a good deal or should I settle for less? Does it matter t
  2. Hello and thank you for reading/trying to help, I'm in the process of looking for a home to buy and have been pre-approved for a mortgage. I was told that no matter what I have to take care of the open/active collection I have reported on my credit reports by Portfolio. The SOL is up and they cannot sue me for it, but the account is to stay on my credit reports for 2 more years. I tried disputing it with the credit agencies but had no luck. Portfolio actually sued me for a different account a year ago, which I challenged and won; I'm guessing that's why they let the SOL expire on this one a
