    Defaulted on a Providian credit card in 2004. Lawsuit filed against me in Dec 2007. The lawsuit was dismissed Feb 2009. Now have another collector (he says he represents law firm) threatening lawsuit for same debt. I live in Texas. Can they do this? I have received no correspondence from this company pertaining to this latest collection, only harassing phone calls. They have called my 85 year old mother, my ex-husband and step-son. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you.
