Highrisk
I have a frickin 30 days late on my Discover. I have contacted them and they don't budge. Otherwise, it is a positive thing, at least it will be when I get it paid off. I've had the Discover card since 1990. The late is from a year and a half ago. Do lates ever drop off? I have disputed and disputed. I don't want to lose the tradeline. P.S. The reason for the late is that I made a huge 800 payment on it one month, and was told by the rep on the phone that no payment was due the following month. Apparently, she lied. Now, I'm screwed. DocDon
Negative info drops after 7 years. Phone reps are normally not authorized to perform such a task. It's best to take the issue to their corporate offices.Tell them you've had this account for 13 years and explain how you ended up with the 30 day late. If this is the only negative on your report, you can hit them with "I have never missed a payment with any of my creditors, as evident by my immaculate credit history, and do not appreciate being mislead by your representatives. I take my credit very seriously...blah blah blah" you get the point. Be nice about it, but be firm. Try this person at corporate:Mr. Joseph HandlinCardmember SpecialistDiscover Financial ServicesP.O.
