MsBree2
In 1999 I had a judgment against me for $3917.00 for an OLD discover card...I recently am getting my credit back together and have just paid off this judgment last month in full. My credit is improving and I finally had the "guts" to check my report....the judgement is on there under public records (understood) , but there's also a TAX LIEN with the same amount through our county court? I am well aware of the judgment through my city court, but had never heard anything about this lien? Is this normal, or do liens and judgments go "hand n hand" ??TIA!! ADSOFT
Is it a FEDRAL or State Tax Lien.By the way, how did you go about paying off your judgement, Did you contact the LAWYER who sued you or did they contact you???
MsBree2
It's through our county court house, the judgment is through my city courthouse.I set up payment arrangments and never missed one-I set up arrangments through the collection agency that sued me. DunDone
I have seen reporting services grab the same lien and report it several times to the CRA's. If it is the same amount, and it's not too far, you can go by the courthouse and get a copy. If the clerk either doesn't have the second one, or it is the same judgement, then you are in the clear. You could easily dispute the second entry and chances are it will come off without a problem. The judgement may be recorded at the city courthouse, and a lien placed against your property until the judgement is paid, at the county. Nonetheless they are a single entry, arising from a singular event.Good luck!
