Letter from Equifax

Got a letter the other day saying in order for them to continue with my disputes I need to send them a copy of my ss# and DL to prove I am who I say I am. Is this true? Should I send it or ignore it and wait to see if they do anything by the end of the 30-35 days. I am a little leary about sending any information like that through the mail even if it is certified. If I have to give this info to them I guess I could find a fax machine and fax it. Help!!!

You have to send it if you want them to start the dispute. They have a right to ask for supporting documentation to establish your identity. If you don't send it, they won't start the investigation and it won't start until the get it.
