Tflutterby27
Got a letter the other day saying in order for them to continue with my disputes I need to send them a copy of my ss# and DL to prove I am who I say I am. Is this true? Should I send it or ignore it and wait to see if they do anything by the end of the 30-35 days. I am a little leary about sending any information like that through the mail even if it is certified. If I have to give this info to them I guess I could find a fax machine and fax it. Help!!! Lizzy
I would send it. I always send a copy of my DL with disputes. You can also fax this information with the confirmation number on your credit report. That number is found on the last page if you printed it out. They have a right to ask for supporting documentation to establish your identity. If you don't send it, they won't start the investigation and it won't start until the get it.
