hi ...

i have a collection account [paid] on my TU report...but it's listed under 'accounts', not under collection accounts and under type it says 'open account'

so is this better than having it in the collection box with the other one?

oh you better believe it, because it really truely isn't mine...i just sent TU a nasy letter about verifying... i called on the 11 and they said that no one responded to the dispute, but i got an updated report on the 14, that said verified...post marked on the 11th. pretty weird, considering i spoke with them at the end of the day on the 11th and the dispute ended on the 13th which was a sunday.

the oc and ca listing has come off of ex, equ, but transunion put the charge off w/ the oc as paid as agreed...and kept the ca account on file... i didn't want to complain too much because the paid as agreed is from 1996 and is the top positive factor in my score.

there is a spot for collections, then a spot for account delenquencies... i am not sure if looks as though it is a collection, it looks like it was paid after charge off... is the only notation. i mean i wonder what is worse, a collection or delinquent account...

Heres the thing, a paid delq is going to look better of course than one thats not paid. Depending on the dates and such though, a paid delq is giving a newer activity date. So in relation to the FICO score paid is prob worse. In realtion to someone actually viewing your report paid is better.

Now you say this is not yours. You are for certain right? Have you gotten in touch with the oc? Sent verification letter to them yet? Have you sent dv letter to ca? Its not yours so you can write them till the end of time to make them take this off. You can afford to send them ITS letters and what have you. Theres no way they can win in court if its not yours.

Get moving on these letters girl, you know what you need to do!!!

i got the letter for removal from the oc... i think someone may have used my info because the account was obtained before my 18th birthday...but no matter. the oc sent a letter for removal to the bureaus...ex, eq, removed. but tu changed to pays as agreed. i asked the oc about the ca...who i paid earlier this year because i didn't know what it was for and it was for 60 bucks. anyway, because the ca bought the account, they don't have anything to do with them. i sent the ca a d/v letter, no resonse... i just sent this letter a few days ago:

This is a letter intended to make you aware of the law suit I plan to file and the complaints that I plan to report based on your willful noncompliance and blatant violations of the FDCPA.

I have requested validation of the debt you have been reporting to the credit bureaus for several years, which was received by your offices June 3, 2003. I called about the account you were tying to collect and expressed that it was not mine, but I was received with nothing but rudeness and lies. You have ignored my request for validation and have continued to report this to the credit bureaus, this is violation #1. Furthermore, you have verified with the credit bureaus without noting that the account was disputed. This is violation #2.

The harassment I received by your collection agents over the phone constitutes a third violation. The invalidated listing on my credit report is defaming and has caused me to be denied credit. This will also be a part of my lawsuit against you scumballs.

Lastly, I am certain that the Federal Trade Commission and my Attorney General would be very interested in your preferred business tactics, as would the Better Business Bureau. You can either contact Transunion or request that the tradeline be removed, or you can see me in court and complaints listed with the appropriate agencies.

Also, I should mention that xxx (The company you supposedly purchased this debt from) had the account listed with the bureaus as a date of last activity being 3/1996, which means that this account [had it been legitimate] has been successfully ‘re aged’ by your agency…another violation.

As I mentioned, this annoyance can be avoided if you promptly contact Transunion and request that the account be deleted.

i also sent one to transunion for verifying the account.

next will be estoppel, but man i want to get the ball rolling.
