okay here are my two big questions...

my mom works at a dealership and the honda guy called me today to tell me about 1.9% and invoice pricing...on civics.

he asked what my tu score was...so i looked i checked with myfico.com and it's 662... he said he would check into it and asked how many accounts i had paid as agreed...

here is what is on my report:

 1 first premier pays as agreed for 12months never late

 gas card from 1996 that was charged off now pays as agreed [from dispute]

 2 federal student loans totaling 35 g's in deferrment [waiting for consolodation]

****

 nco collection for 188...i paid this, and got a letter, but tu hasn't updated, should i call ca or tu, or both, or will it even work?

 a paid collection under the 'accounts' section that looks like it's with the positive trades and has a negative notation [it's not in the collection account section] i am trying to get this removed as it is not mine but TU, and the CA are being difficult

****

 i have one inquiry from december for car insurance.

 i have a household card i have just made my second payment on...but the account is not showing up yet (should i call TU, Orchard says they already reported)

 i have a perkins loan to be consolodated with the others, that I just made my first payment on, but the listing is only with experian [has been in grace] should i call them to ask if they will report to tu??

****

i am worried that the finance people will recommend a co signer, I make decent money, and have a few concerns about getting the lowest rate. right now i am making the payments on a car that is not in my name!!!

my mom said that she would put me on as an authorized user, but will that take a while to show up and would there be a score change immediately? not sure here. any feedback will certainly be helpful. sorry for the book...

My husband's friend is finance mgr at a major dealer here; this is what he has told us about the promotional financing rates: Minimum auto FICO score is usually 660, but most of the promotional programs do not allow for ANY negatives. That is not to say you won't get a loan; you just might not get the promotional rate.

i plan on getting the one off of my report, but the nco will stay...

the dealer seemed more concerned that i didn't have more open accounts pays as agreed... so i don't know. i guess if he wants to sell the car bad enough, he will figure it out, right? i would love that 1.9...

kbean,

I'm not an expert but how about, taking copies of the checks that your are paying the car with, take a copy of your bank account statement, pay stubs from where you work, and a statement of how long you been working at your present job.

.... And of course a substantial down payment.

I work with the used car industry: All these guys have to show is that they have been working in the same place of 6months, a utility bill and a maybe a bank statement: the're in!!!!!!

I hope that helps. 8) 8) 8)
