RECONSIDERATION WHEN DENIAL LETTER IS NOT SPECIFIC

Recommended Posts

I applied for a CC with MBNA and was rejected, I was so mad because this is from the college I graduated from.

Anyway, when they sent me the denial letter it was not specific about why I was denied, it was like: "well get your report from experian" or write us at PO BOX .....

So I want to send a letter via PLANET FEEDBACK. Yet I don't know what to say that will make my credit look positive. Should I say, .... I wanted to ask for reconsideration but your letter didn't specifiy why I was denied????

I don't know how to say that nicely and get them to give me some feed back??????:cry::cry:

Can somebody supply some feedback??????

How should I word this situation.

ADSOFT,

I'm curious about planetfeedback :? . What specifically does writing to them do?

I sent a request to the three cra's requesting investigation into Capital One cc, and inquiries on my credit report.

CapitalOne replied with a letter explaining that they researched my account and found that I did not pay my bill on time Apr-Dec, 2001. On my TrueCredit report it shows I was current in April...isn't that a conflict and possibly cause for deletion?

When I spoke to EX, the representative told me that it was ok for a creditor or collection co. to request a copy of my report. This does not sound right So what's the next step? Send a copy of the tradelines in question? Do a GoodWill letter?

AD, sorry I wasn't much help :(

Members use planet feedback to send letters to active/open accounts to get lates off or request reconsideration on credit cards. Basically to polish up exsisting open accounts.

Regarding removing neg info. Talk to MORROW, SIS and KB.

If you want to remove inquires I think Morrow ans SIS have the best approaches!!!!!

ADSOFT,

I think in this case I would forget about writing them and just call in to ask why they declined since the letter did not give a reason.

The reason codes - they give (like to high of balances; too many inquiries...) these are specifically for credit reasons only. It may be that they was an un-related credit reason in your case.

But on the other hand they should of gave a reason (since they included address to order your credit report). They did not do their decline letter correctly by any means...

I would point out these two items to them; and lack there of reason for decline.

Writing to the creditor for their good will, is giving the creditor the chance to show heart and salvage a working relationship between you and them. It don't have to be open accounts can be closed as well. Cause they never know how your future finances will be and want return business. They are people just like us capable of seeing our side of matters and being moved to help on the reporting and interest rates... anything.

This works just like disputing with the CRAs; but in this case you are accomplishing the same thing but with friendlier means. And business depends on customers with repeat business and recommendations to others; they do appriciate feed back and this can be beneficial.

Was the disputed inquiry on the same company?

Yes, always an open on conflicting reporting; just not good with this part.

Permissible purpose is for the review of existing accounts; establishing new credit; and debt owed on accounts. Only the 2nd one requires authorization form you; the 1st one is a soft hit on your credit report not viewed by other creditors (or should not be) and the 3rd one you just can't do much of anything unless you can show that they had no reason to be collection on the debt to begin with. - Backed up with debt validation.
