Filing complaints with the BBB

Does this help in trying to resolve issues with creditors or should you just not bother with it at all and just jump right to the law suit?

You goal I think is to remove information and not go to court. Normally, you use the threat of filing complaints with the BBB/AG/FTC etc to have them remove the information. Don't just file the complaint, tell them if they don't comply, you will file, otherwise you have no leverage. Definitely file complaints, it does help and if it doesn't help you this particular time, the more complaints they get- the more the agencies will look into it. Don't forget the FTC.........

I've used the BBB in my repair journey.

They were pretty good and responded very quickly.

I actually got about 4 tradelines deleted through their efforts.

I used their online complaint system after I had DV'd the CAs at least twice! Basically, I told the BBB that the CAs had violated the FDCPA/FCRA by refusing to respond to my request for validation.

About 10-15 days later I received letters from the CAs saying they would delete. In a couple cases I actually got a CA response before the BBB told me they would delete!

HTH

BTW, if you have anything with IC Systems out of Minneapolis, the Minnesota AG is a GREAT resource! And, they're online too. About 10 days max and IC caved!
