melisadawn
Tried to get a truck. Went to dealership CR in hand. Was proud of that 696. 8) . With CR they let us know what we qualify for. Was gettin me a Ram quad cab . We asked them to hold truck till this Sat for us and put a 50$ deposit to hold. Called insurance co. up to get quotes. Found 1 that would forgive fiance of all his violations since they were work related knocked 100$ off the insurance. Well called car lot to see how it was all going since I looked on WK and saw they pulled TU and their bank did also. I was ready to celebrate . Drove there with CR in hand and a big . Well they showed me what they pulled. HE HAS NO SCORE!!!!!!!!!!! insufficient credit history. Only 1 tl on it for 23k which only lasted 4 months and was closed. (long story but nothing negetive). So there is nothing they can do and now have 2 new inquiries for nothing.
kb9tbq
That is terrible, sorry to hear that. That don't sound right to have pulled a credit report with such a high score then they find no score. How recent was the credit report you showed them? What was the difference that you could tell between the two?So as it stands right now, your DH needs to get some credit established right quick, how is your credit? Did you think of going that way, or are you still working on stuff on your side?
melisadawn
My credit is bad. I was working oon his more then mine. I pulled his score directly from TU on july 14. He has only 1 tl and both reports matched.
kb9tbq
Usually you can't get a score if no activity in 6 months so that is quite unfair in this case that TU gave one, but the dealership seen what was correct in the end. UnfortunateIf you have the means, start applying for a few cards, mix in an installment loan. Especially if possible get an AU account with good payment history, hight credit limit, low balance & long established history added to his credit report. This is going to be a slow process unfortuntely with going from not information. But that is what is needed in this case. The nice thing is when a score does show up it should not be low, like bad credit does to the scores. melisadawn
Do you think peoplefirst or 1 of the online loan places might see a score. Or will they pull the same thing?
Swede
Do you think peoplefirst or 1 of the online loan places might see a score. Or will they pull the same thing?Peoplefirst pulls all three and then they give it to Cap One Auto to pull all three as well, trust me, I've been there................ jonny
Melisa, I'm sorry to hear about your big let down after it looked so promising that you would get your truck.I got a 02 Dodge Quad 1/2 ton last year with scores barley above 500 and am paying dearly for it...18% for 60 months. American General financed it but not without alot of begging.I put 3k down and payment is $471.00. I tried to refinance but all I got for my trouble was more INQ's.I liked the truck but not enough to pay 18% however the circumstances at the time dictated that I had to.I'm sure that if you have to wait till next years model comes out, it will look better and be better equiped. melisadawn
His fico EQ is 554 TU 696 and EX unk. I called the bank that turned him down. They said it was because (like kb said) he had nothing established. I got kind of upset. And told them we do not have cc because we are not trying to go into debt. Here we are trying to get a loan we KNOW we can pay. And because we do not have payments going out that you can verify there is nothing you can do???? He said yep, its a catch 22. So I am moping around thinking what did I do this work for??? I want to start applying for cc for him. But do not want inquiries for nothing. I was looking really good in that truck 8) . But now he is going to try for a loan 3500$ from his bank to get his semi back on the road. Plates alone are 1600$. Told him he should try for 10k to have $$$ aside for repairs. So we will see what happens. I gotta cheer up. taking kids to cedar point tomorrow Hopefully new ride working
kb9tbq
Take copy of credit report with him to his bank, and ask what he can get with his credit as is, without them actually pulling his credit report (unless they approve him). That way, if it is not possible - he saved himself an inquiry being added.Installment loans are a great way to rebuild plus getting off on the right foot for establishing long term relationships with local bank, incase down the road you ever need their help again. The credit cards can follow later, when his credit score is established. But getting at least installment loans will put him on the right track.Really sorry about that, is a bummer when they judge for lack of credit (wonder where or how they expect people to start out).Sometimes when people have applied for major loans like mortgage. I have seen them make homemade credit reports. These include payment histories from utility companies, letter from landloard of reference on your paying as agreed and how long you have rented. Cable company & phone companies can also contribute to these reports. You may still consider doing this before going to the bank to see what the best possible out come can be.Some banks don't even grade on credit scores, I know in my area of one credit union customer that does not. They base their approval on established relationships with them, even if the credit report shows bad with other creditors. Local business are really good for gaining their ear when you can explain or show cause for certain unfortunate events.
melisadawn
GRRRR i pulled WK and when I went to dealership and they showed me their report I thought that they were showing what they had already pulled. But instead ANOTHER was pulled. That score thingy on WK was 20 now it is 15. He has 7 inq. 3 from 2001--1 from feb. 2003---3 from this past week 2 for dealership 1 from bank. kb9tbq
Yes, I know exactly what you mean, there are a lot of sales people & loan officers that think it is easy and convient to repull the same report they just had earlier that day, most of them don't know the damage they do (too many people to educate per company) so a lot of them are just uneducated unfortunately, or some which do know better still proceed like this. I was so mad when I went through American General a year back; 1st I applied, then came back 2 days later to add DH, well they repulled my report all over again. I have periodically been trying to dispute and bump that second inqury. Sure made me mad that they did that, I DID NOT give authorization to repull the report.I keep telling our bank loan officers that what they do is hurting the consumer, especially them mortgage loan officers (think it is a matter of looking today, then tomorrow & the next day) heck they would be pulling all the time if you don't keep an eye on them. Especially when they know the consumer has been disputing and are anxious to see if the report is ready yet!!!
melisadawn
I am going to start pulling his WK report 4 times a day. I know with only 7 inq. it will prob take forever to bump but we have to do something.
edubb007
Melissa...From what you've said I think you should go here..http://www.creditboards.com/creditsearch/Look by EQ for a bunch CC that pulls EQ in your state and then go to Sis's link page/Thread, here...http://debt-consolidation-credit-repair-service.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=51&highlight=depotThen you can apply for a couple CC's he might be able to get. The reason for EQ is as of now they are the only CRA who will let you openly dispute inq's off a report. He will have no account reported if you dispute right away and have a good chance to pull them off. Get him 6 mos. of "Pays as agreed" status and he'll be fine. Go back for the same truck when he's a little higher. Also Find out who ETrade auto financing pulls in your state and try them. If you go to lending tree they send your app to like 5 places and an INQ onslaught occurs. Even though they say they count as one when looking at a car or house I get nervous when like 8 INQ'a show up.Good luck and keep your chin up. melisadawn
Have tried cc for his EQ. His EQ is under 600. His TU is 696 so that was why we were hoping. But he has nothing established on it. I thought through etrade you would have to have stock to use it.

Did you try Whopulledmycredit through thte Yahoo groups that Sis always recommends? It shows a clear trend of TU in your state. Just type in TU and try for something in your state or an online service. Good luck!Edubb007 8)
Lizzy
We are buying a new SUV next spring. By then our scores will be in the 700's. I can't go by who pulled my credit. I applied for American Eagle after it said EXP is what they pull and they pulled my EQ which is my lowest score. I am sitting on a Victoria's Secret application because I think they pull TU. I have a public record in dispute now and after it comes off, I will send it in. I hate hearing NO Liz
