lizandjerry
OK, so I have seriously bad credit and I want to dispute some items on my credit report. How is the CRA going to take me seriously. I have 14 lates that vary from 30-90days on Experian that I seriously think I paid (This is the first Credit Report ever, so there are lots and lots of mistakes.) If I'm currently past due almost 90 days on all of my accounts, will the CRA still do the investigation on my disputes? Also, I'm disputing particular lates (ex: 3-2001 not late, shows late on credit report). That's the stuff I'm disputing, and theirs 14 of them on just one of the Credit Reports. I'm not trying to lie to them to get them to remove it. I'm being sincere with all of my disputes, but I'm just afraid that they wont even investigate calling it "frivilous." Should I just go for it? What do you think?
kb9tbq
If you know there are errors in the reporting, you can contact the creditor directly, or write them a good will letter through www.planetfeedback.com requesting them to look into this matter since you don't believe the reporting is correct on the matter. If you dispute directly with the CRAs, this might result in deletion (in a case that could of been improved directly by the credtior). What happens, is once you dispute with the CRAs, they only give the creditor to investigate and respond within a short period of time, if the creditor fails to respond (then the tradeline will be deleted).Oh, and the CRAs are not in the business of taking you serious or not, they just process the dispute, unless they start seeing you re-disputing on already disputed items with the same reason too soon. Otherwise you are good to go.Recommend that you split your dispute in half and rotate every 30 days which batch you are disputing, this way you can space it out further and not so easily get them frivolous letters that others can see from time to time. But if you know there is a problem which you believe to be incorrect or paid, by all means contact the creditor to update the otherwise positive accounts. The disputing part with the CRAs are for Charge Offs / Collections and the such that are negative to begin with. If you can't get the creditors help, then you might re-visit the dispute with the CRA if this is something you really want removed no matter what.
