gmj
The R5, or I5, indicates a payment that was 120 days late. If you use the link at the very top of the forums and select the Credit Reports pull-down menu, one of the entries is 'Decoding Reports'. That page has lots of info on how to read those things. The zero balance sounds like it was paid off, one way or another. I could be wrong on this one, as I am still learning much of this stuff as I go.Hope this helps, gmj

Grace
I'm having the same problem. My loans were paid in 1998, but there were some 120 day lates.I was able to get 2 CRA to change it to PAID, 0 balance, but one wouldn't budge. SO after making some phone calls, I talked a supervisor into sending me a letter saying the loans are paid. I'll use that letter to send to the CRA that won't budge. Does that sound like a good idea?ThanksGrace
Grace
I receive the letter from Sallie Mae today, saying that my student loans are paid and the disbursement dates in 1994. The letter also said they would be notifying the CRA. Should I also send a copy of this letter to TU? They are the ones that are reporting it negatively. I would think with the info on the letter that they Should be deleted because of the disbursement date given. If I send the letter, will it restart the investigation time with TU?Thanks,Grace
