I don't know if this is inacted yet but I found this on the Illinois General Assembly website. I was trying to find any state law on CREDIT REPORTING and not DEBT COLLECTION.

http://www.legis.state.il.us/legislation/billstatus.asp?DocNum=3334&GAID=3&DocTypeID=HB&LegID=5955&SessionID=3

I was searching for any type of law to reference to keep myself in small claims district instead of federal for FCRA violations against TU. I also found these other bills that may be prudent. Look at them and see if they help.

HB2344

or type CREDIT REPORTING ACT in the search function

Hope this can be of some use to anybody

Thank you so much, there is just SO MUCH information in here covering the credit reporting rules and changes - I never knew we had a ruling on this, when I inquired with various places over a year ago or so, they said we did not have one. Was totally thrown off on this matter.

Boy I am going to be digging forever now on this - to find everything relevant. Thanks, you sure cut my work out for me, lol :-)

Like to see if there is something that puts it all together at one place instead of all the little changes here & there, to make this easier. Even though I have been finding some other great things while searching. lol

Thanks again -

No problem. Like I said, I was merely searching for any referenced state law that would allow me to keep a lawsuit on the state level instead of having to go to federal court to play TU's silly game of bumping it up to the federal level for federal violations. I'm so glad I have a reference now. If not, at least it may be a good scare tactic.

I guess we have to find out if it is actually enacted or if it is still sitting in the House waiting for the next vote. I wonder if a call or e-mail to someone in the IGA would be able to answer.

There is some good info...use it well. Maybe we could help each other out!!

I think there is a way to tell, if you find the main bill it is attached to on the inacted date.

I bookmarked & saved so much information last night, then started posting others here in the artical of the week section and the collection section, :-)

I have a VERY important task now, to report back to my boss about this new find and study it and notify all of our creditors of any nessasary changes they may be unaware of!

I am terrible at research and understanding all the legal jargon they mix in. Them little ones get irritating when you click just to find out they changed the wording, and nothing to do with the bill itself. I will look some more later though.

Kind of got over killed on it last night,:shock::shock::shock:
