hello guys.....after two months of disputing with the CRAs I'm getting phone calls from collectors....and AT WORK!!!!! I know I need to send cease & desist letters AND validations, but I was hoping to complete several rounds of disputes first. Please advise on how to proceed. I'm even getting letters from collectors offering settlement amounts. I haven't spoken to anyone...but need these calls to stop! Whats the best, fastest approach?

When you recieve these calls at work, you should inform whom ever is calling that you are not allowed to take personal calls at work, then they should not be allowed to call again at work.

This has been happening to me as well, about three months into my disputes, all these old collections notices started to arrive in my mail box. All of which are way beyond the SOL, so I just sent them a cease and desist letter.

I also had a Montgomerywards that was in collections reappear in my credit file that had not been there for over two years, that one I am not sure how to handle, although I did send to MW a DV letter and am awaiting a response.

Good Luck

If you are still within the SOL - only send a partial cease and desist letter.

This is to tell them to only correspond with you by writing, and that you don't want them contacting you by phone, or to contact 3rd parties.

If you send a full cease and desist letter, that stops communication of any kind, then they would be allowed to contact you 1 last time to inform you of what actions they will be taking (including going to court). This can speed up the road to court, if used prior to SOL expiring.
