blethered
Ok heres my situation...I live in Pa and my written agreement for the SOL says 6 yrs...About 4 1/2 yrs ago I got a Cell Phone (Yeah, I 18 yrs old and stupid I guess), I ran up the cell phone bill on roaming charges up to around 1000 dollars.Around the same year I just couldn't pay it due to me getting into a car lease with a 2000 cavalier (red)...but anyway....they used to call me all the time back then and never could get to me...since then, they turned me into a collection agency requesting the money ect...(I never replied). They even tried to settle with me for around 800 dollars, but due to the fact that my car was more important for paying (I never replied). I'm 22 yrs old now and I have never talked to anyone from Bell Atlantic Mobile/ Verizon...but i know my credit is shot...EVEN WITH me doing a 3 yr car lease never being late on a payment...Other then that....thats all the credit i ever had in my life...a cell phone bill and a car lease...from how i understand credit works...My questions are: It's been almost five years from what i know, should i wait it off?How will this really effect me if my SOL is up? If i wait it out, does it just go away *EXACTLY after 6 yrs? and the only thing that should show on my credit is my car, then I will okay credit again?I understand i need to get a copy of my credit report to verify all this exactly, but im worried about going up to get another car lease or a loan (it kinda makes me scared to even try again cause of this phone bill). I believe I only made about one inquirey recently for a phone with teen mobile and they told me im the worst LETTER RATEING they have...so im kinda pissed ...i go from driving a 2000 cavalier to a 92 plymouth sundance with 116k ....please help me out anyone so that i can make the best decission with what can be done. THanks much
poij311
ok im new at this so if anything i say is wrong please correct me. from what i know the sol only applies to how long they can legally take you to court for the debt. it will stay on your credit for 7 years and 10 for bks i think. THanks muchthat is correct to whom replied to you. it will stay on your cbr for 7 yrs from dla. from my experience verizon doesn't have the healthiest summs they are willing to take off their balances for sifs. i would try though. come in with a modest % and see if they bite. if you know you are in a position you need to use your cbr in the failry near future do what u can do do fix it. i would sif, pif if necessary... then i'd have one very small credit limit i used to just put gas!!! on each month to have a constant reporting... pay it constantly leaving only about a $10 balance to get the positive reporting building on you. jam
Have you tried disputing these entries on the CRA report...Verizon listed not one, not two, but THREE Verizon Cell Phone accounts alleging to be GTE Wireless on my TransUnion, all of which disappeared when I disputed them with TransUnion. These were allegedly circa 1998, so probably around the same time as the accounts that you are having problems with.Second, more than likely the accounts are at some CA. Ask the CA to obtain complete validation for the accounts from Verizon.
