Lil Smurfette
I disputed a car loan which was aged about 3 years, but had several late payments. The account was deleted but my lender just informed me that my score dropped. Now this is her second time running my report within two weeks. She says that if it's for a mortgage and you run it within a 30 day period it doesn't hurt your score. Is this true? Are would it have been better to leave the account on there. EX says that I can call the OC to get the information re-inserted. Any advice would help.
melisadawn
Whether or not you should have it added back on I do not know. But the dealership told me the same thing about it affecting score. 2 pulls in 2 days same dealership. Said since it was within 1 week it would not hurt score. But it did. edubb007
Smurfette... What are your goals? Mortgage? Car? CC's?Also what are your scores and what report was this removed from? The whole idea of losing points is not that bad if you have no immediate need for a high score. For a Mortgage and such! Deleting derogative information may lower you score depending on the info in that TL, age, limit, etc... Ther is one thing for sure though, it is deleted and it was negative! So in the long run it WILL help. If the points effect adversly now then maybe try to get an AU on a seasoned CC from your DH or Friend w/ a long standing and low usage. kb9tbq
Yes, immediately call the original creditor and ask them to re-add the account on your credit report due to it getting deleted. Stick to your guns, if they say they don't have it to re-add, inform them you have prior copy of credit report with the information that needs to be on there, stress the importance of this since you are applying for a mortgage loan. Once it is back on, then you want to ask them through customer service, or even write a good will letter to please remove lates off of the credit report. edubb007
Ah... KB has the inside track! It's for a mortgage! Now I get it. So you are in need of those points back to get a healthy middle score. Yeah... Get it put back on immediately especcialy if the CRA is willing to re-insert upon approval. Good luck and keep us posted.EDubb007 8)
