lizandjerry
I mailed my first disputed items to the CRA's only a week ago. I only did a small list because I didnt want to bombard them with a whole bunch at once in fear that they would send it back "frivilous"I also mailed in a DV letter to a collection agency around the same time, and I cant wait to see if they're going to verify or remove. Well, today I decided to pull my scores from MYFICO.com because the prior reports I pulled were from 3rd party companies selling the reports. Boy was I upset to find that my scores were lower than I anticipated! I mean, I was low before, but this is ridiculous, maybe even a new record. TU is 488EX is 499EQ is 476OMG! THe information that I pulled from the other reports show different lates and account statuses. I wish I would have pulled the MYFICO first because there is a crapload of things that I would have disputed differently. I had a Nextcard account that was sold to Merrick, and my reports are showing 0 balance, but currently 180 days late! I havent had that CC in over a year! There is so much stuff wrong on there its not even funny. Now I got to wait for the other disputes to come back, then another 30 days waiting period before re-disputing, then another 30 days for them to get back to me regaurding the disputes. I'm already frusterated and its only my first dispute! I'll keep trying, but this is really upsetting me.
ADSOFT
Well, believe me sending letters will pay off, you may get faste results initialy if you dispute by phone like I did, but you will run into a dead end if you don't get into the habit of sending out letters. If you have the proper paper trail in 60 -90 days if you have to sue, you will be ahead of the game.Go read the forum were members have taken CREDITORS and CRA's to court. They had the proper paper work and they were sucessful in finding proper help to win their cases. So be patient this stuff works it takes time. Did you already have all the old names and addresses removed????
lizandjerry
Did you already have all the old names and addresses removed????No, not yet. I wanted to get to the really important stuff first. In fact, only one of the CRA's really bothered me as far as the name was concerned. It was TU. They had 2 listings of my "possible" names. One was my normal name with the correct middle initial. The other was my correct first and last name, but a middle initial of "Q"! That bothered me because my middle initial is "A" and even when written out, nobody can mistake an "A" for a "Q"! That kinda got to me and I really want it removed. I'll throw that in on the next dispute.

Yes you can sue the CRA'S if don't remove old names and addresses, but you will probobly only get $100( the fine is $100-$1000). You can ask other members for their opinions, but somehow you have to remove old names and addresses it will help you clean up your credit report faster!!! poij311
i just got off the phone with the cra's and had them remove all my previous addresses and mispellings of my name as well as all old phone #'s. was a piece of cake! i would definately get on the phone and have that stuff removed. it will make it easier to have things removed and its so easy to do. i was nervous that theyd hound me for a reason why. they didnt even ask a thing. the one lady from experian even said yes mam all taken care of. 1st time ive ever been called mam in my 26 years on this earth. melisadawn
poij, Do you remember her name? From what I have heard sometimes it depends on who you get on how hard they will work on the file. So you may want to ask for her next time you call.
