megahurtzzz
Hello all.Im trying to calculate when my charge-offs are set to expire (7 year). Ive read different ways this is calculated. Can someone help, is it when it was reported as charge off? Or when i first was late with payment that eventually led to charge off?Is there anyway to tell from credit reports the date?
sisflomi
If you buy or get a free copy of your EXPERIAN report it will show you the fall off dates. I think that the seven years for reporting starts from the co off date, but it dont show that on the reports, it shows 7 years from last payment on mine. curlytop
MY EX report shows very early dates for my COs to come off (from last payment like Sis's). Do you think that I can use the EX fall off dates as leverage with the other CRAs to get items off early?
kb9tbq
Nope - sorry to say, one CRA won't accept documentation from another CRA as proof to remove information. Each one must do their own investigation with the Creditor or Collection Agency.
Boobeans
I have a old Experian report (I keep every report I pull) and it showed that one of my accounts was to come off in 11/2002, I pulled my report again and it was now showing 11/2003, I disputed it and they took it off but they are not always correct on the dates....well, not with me anyways. If you have any old reports try looking at those. That is the one reason I kept all of them, so they couldn't come back and say I had more time to wait. I have a report from 1998. I'm alittle over board but I think it's a good idea to keep them.
